I know that Joss finally revealed that Faith's last name was Lehane, but has William's last name ever been revealed? I'm asking because I see a lot of people referring to him as William Pratt. Was there a memo and I didn't get it, or is this just a popular guess by the fans?

Good question!
There's a cominc running around, I can't remember which it is, but I do have it somewhere, in which Spike runs into Halfreck/Cecily, and in it, he's referred to as 'William Pratt' during a flash back to the night he was sired.

But I highly doubt the comic is canon, as I think it's set sometime during Angel S5, and as we know, Halfrek was killed by D'Hoffryn in BTVS S7.

But the name has apparently stuck with some people, however, I never use it.
 
I believe i read somewhere that it came from that Spike's mum's last name was Pratt in the credits...

If that name is true it's a nice reference to old horror movies from the writers, or if not true it's a nice piece of wishful fanthink...I'm surprised you didn't pick up on it WA 🙂

William Pratt was the given name of one Boris Karloff, who achieved some fame as a horror film actor...some of you may have heard of him 😉

I learned something new today!
It was either Prett OR Pratt.
anyway, his last name never got confirmed by Joss, but the fandom, and everybody else, have accepted it.
 
Do we seriously need last names for vampires, though? I mean, that's the point of having these cool new names (Like Spike), you can completely forget your old name. About the Pratt thing - I've heard that one before. Someone (I think even someone on BB) was having a laugh about putting Spike's old nickname togeher with his last name: William the Bloody Pratt. It is sorta funny 😀

Talking about last names...do we know Liam's last name? It might have been on his gravestone in The Prodigy (? Kinda shaky on the episode title), but I never paid that much attention to it.
 
I honestly can't remember.. Maybe Liam's family forgot to put it on the stone..

I'm pretty sure it's the Old Times comics, although I'm not 100% about that. I think the comic was classified as non-canon, but still, everyone's accepted it, so hopefully Pratt is what his last name is.

Possibly that had something to do with Liam's father disowning him ("You're no son of mine...") If he did that officially, wouldn't that mean that Liam would have no right to use the family name, even in death?
