After the Twilight reveal-spolier, we talked quite a bit regarding how Buffy would react when she found out who Twilight was, but we have not talked about what Spike's reaction will be to this.

Spike:You were my sire, man! You were my... Yoda

Spider: I know you have a bond with Angel. I know it's deeper then you admit.

We know that Angel and Spike shared a strong bond. They care for each other, even if they don't like to admit it. They're known each other a long time, and saved each others lives countless times. They both love the same women, and fought the same fight. Angel wasn't Spike's sire, but he was the man who taught him everything he knows, arguably. They have a connection that can't be denied.

We now know that Spike is showing up in S8. So, my question is; how do you think Spike will react to the news that Angel is evil? Shock? Dismay? Anger? What do you think he will do and say?

Judging by how much the comics seem to be pi***ng everybody off, I wouldn't be surprised if he was somehow in on it.

The whole free will and the probably under influence sexathon still bothers me and now i can´t even look at the pictures anymore. All i can see right now is a raping in progress. WTF! If there was no free will at all involved how will Spike react to this shocking fact? Buffy and Angel abused by a higher power to wipe out mankind. This is hard to swallow.

First of all i want to know where the hell Spike was the whole time. I don´t believe for one second that Gunn,Illyria,Connor and the others were just waiting for his return. Finding out Angels whereabouts should be there number one priority. It was a year goddamnit. He disappeared into thin air and nobody noticed it. Yeah right...

Second of all i don´t think Spike knew what was going on until his arrival and if he is part of Twilights plan i´m done anyways.

Honestly i can´t tell what he will do but i guess it will be a wake up call for Buffy. Damn i can see the last line before the next arc takes place "Them Fighting".

Spike has always fully expected it would come to him vs. Angel in the end.

Assuming Angel remains invulnerable, though, it probably won't take the form of a mano-a-mano fight... Spike won't start a fight he knows he can't win.

His value here may be the fact that he has the best BS Detector in the Buffyverse. He's right up there with Cordelia when it comes to telling people what they need to hear, whether they want to hear it or not.

If anyone can penetrate Angel's thick skull -- with words rather than with a pickaxe -- it's going to be Spike.

Agreed. I'd love to see Spike help Angel back to his senses
I think that Spike's going to make another "Hello, Cutie," entrance like he did in Season 2, and I think that he will have escaped from whatever kind of restraints that Angel had had him in. Whether he will be bringing anyone with him, as in Illyria. I think that Buffy would go into apoplexy if either Connor or Nina showed up. Come to think of it, though, Oz and his people could probably help Nina.

if it snaps Buffy out of her crush on Captain Forehead, it will be the healthiest apoplexy in medical history! :D

Oh my god, don't even say that. It'd take a blatant Deus Ex Machina move like the one in AtS4 when everything we ever saw turned out to have been Jasmine moving her pawns around on a cosmic chessboard to explain how Spike could have been in on this; elseway I'm irrevocably done with all the "soul" and "redemption" and "good vs evil" claptrap we've been fed for years. (But hey, with all the talk of mystical pregnancy we might actually get to see exactly that. Wait until they write Buffy out of the comics by having her go comatose after birthing The God Of Evolution... who's probably the Cheese Man, anyway. Just wait for that final punchline and remember "IM knew it first!" when he shows up crawling out of Buffy's womb.)

Good, evil, soul, soulless, human, vampire - it obviously all make no sodding difference, so what's the point of this show? The whole concept would be reduced to a joke, a cheap excuse to show eight years of mindless violence by some dorky misfits with bad aggression control who enjoy bashing heads in while babbling nonsense. I guess in that case I'll have to go and abandon Whedon's drivel for more intelligent writing. "Vampire Diaries", maybe, or "Twilight".

Spike: Hi Buffy how is Angel?
Buffy: He is a total lunatic and i´m afaraid of him. Ah and we have another apocalypse.
Spike: Good to know.
Buffy: Why is that good?
Spike: Because Angel and i are in a relationship and love eachother. I like him as a lunatic and we are ruling the world together. Twilight showed me who Angel really was and being gods is awesome.
Buffy notices that Spike is sparkling in the sunlight: *pulls a gun* *shoots herself in the head*

Angel: I told you she would react like this.

If Spike found everything out at once, possibly via Willow filling him in, I could see Spike fuming, clutching a stake so hard that blood streams down his hand. Reasonably, he'd then proceed to get in touch with Illyria, Connor, Gunn, Groo, Cordy!Dragon, and Cordy!Higher Power, to mount an offensive significant enough to kill Twangel, maybe even Buffy along with him.

I'd also think that would be the kind of battle Spike would die fighting, partly because I couldn't see him living with himself after killing his mentor [(Tw)Angel(us)] and his lover [Buffy].

I strongly disagree that Cordelia has a high BS meter and always tells it like it is and doesn't fall for things. She was tricked into becoming part-demon. She was tricked into thinking she was a Higher Being. She was tricked into believing that she had to leave Earth for important missions in the Higher Realms (which turned out to be her dangling in the sky bored out of her mind, waiting for AI to rescue her).

I said she's perceptive, not omniscient. It took one of the Powers That Be to trick her like that.

Cordelia's greatest skill was to recognize when Angel was doing something stupid, and inform him of that in no uncertain terms.

So true; Spike wouldn't be able to live with himself if he had a hand in killing his true love and his "sire" in most respects. Angel and Buffy are arguably the only two people he's ever really cared about. Sure, he'd attempt to kill Twilight if he thought it was the right thing to do, but it'd break him, I think.

I hope that Spike is not the one to have to kill Twilight. I hope he talks him to his senses - Buffy, too.

I kind of think it's be cool to see Spike go down fighting, actually. If Joss is planning on killing him off, I'd like to see him go down fighting against evil, trying to help the woman he loves.

awww... going down heroically doing the right thing... TWICE! would be heartbreaking, but a fitting and worthy send-off of Spike. :'(

I would see him go down fighing too but i´ve got the feeling someone close to Buffy and Spike sacrifices himself this time.

It's such an unbelievably glaring omission to leave Spike out of this. With Lindsey dead, Spike is easily one of the four most significant players in the Apocalypse. Not to mention the fact with modern technology, it's a little hard to believe that Spike wouldn't realize the full-blown war going on with his closest allies at the front-lines.

At least in AS5 we were given excuses as to the whereabouts of Willow & Buffy even if they were BS (both from real world perspective, and the fact that BS8 revealed that Andrew & Giles were simply lying to Angel & Spike).

I kind of think it's be cool to see Spike go down fighting, actually. If Joss is planning on killing him off, I'd like to see him go down fighting against evil, trying to help the woman he loves.
In light of this arc I wouldn't be opposed to that, but personally I've always seen Spike as going on and being an eternal Antihero Champion. I think it would be pretty cool to see Spike in 2300AD still fighting the good fight.
