in School Hard Spike says to Angel: You think you can fool me?! You were my sire, man! You were my... Yoda!

in other episodes we see Drusilla siring Spike

explanation please
 
If you do a search of the forums you'll find numerous threads that explain this in detail.

Dru technically sired him by turning him into a vampire....but because Angel sired Dru...he can also be considered Spike's sire. It's sort of like a father/grandfather thing (if that makes any sense).

I'm sure it's been explained way better by others...so do that search and you should find the explanation you're looking for. :silly:

Yep! Exactly! Also, Angelus was a mentor to Spike, and influenced him a lot in his early years. Another reason for Spike to call him "Sire." 🙂
