Do you miss it? Would you like to have it back? Or do you just thing that the series is better off without it?

As for me, I liked it. I thought that it opened the door to a whole lot of possibilities for stories, plus it gives Spike the first real home that he's had since Season 6, except for a few weeks that he had the basement apartment in LA.

Besides which, if Angel could be the only vampire with a soul for so long, what would be wrong with having Spike be the only vampire with a space ship for a few seasons?
 
It was a bizarre little thing, and I think that it was fine when he had it, but I was actually glad now that it's finally gone, since I think he's better off just being himself with the only gimmick being that he's, well, Spike.

I think it's safe to say the comics have "jumped the shark" and need to end.

The comics are so outlandish (Dawn is a giant, Dawn is a centaur) that there is no story - it is just a series of bizarre events strung together.
Did it really add anything to the story? Other than being able to say someone had a spaceship?

I didn't have much of an opinion about his spaceship. Initially, I thought it was odd, but as time went on I got use to it. If they have Spike keep it cool, if not cool.

Spike's had it since BS8 😱

Personally, I first really liked the concept right when the spaceship was destroyed. That whole plot was to do with demons fleeing earth for other worlds. I always though that would be a nice plot-point: if we learned that all of these "other worlds" weren't necessarily different realities, but maybe just planets too far away to reach by current technological means.

Obviously the Wishverse is an alternate universe, but I see little reason why even Pylea couldn't just be on a planet too far to get to via traditional methods (which is basically all of them considering we haven't even sent people to Mars). The fact that they have different effects on vampires could be as simple as different elemental or magical properties.

Personally, I think that would have been a more elegant way of incorporating "normal humans" into Buffy's supernatural world, as opposed to the heavy-handed vampire celebrity craze that Harmony launched.

I hated that plot point, because it sucks the realism out of the Buffyverse. Angel showed the lengths people would go to in order to rationalize the supernatural. Even when Jasmine blotted out the sun in AS4, we saw the socialites talking about it as a natural phenomena. Then post-AtF, we saw most shrugged off the months long LA apocalypse as mass hysteria.

It would have been far more elegant to have some NASA expedition land on Pylea, where it could be a general conversation piece for normal humans, than to have swarms of vampires feeding out in the open everywhere, as it is now.

Personally, I loved the bugs and the spaceship. Jane Espensen's digital comic was one of my favorites, so funny!! And even though Spike's appearance in the spaceship in season 8 was published before the last IDW Spike series, I felt that the IDW series did a good job giving background about the spaceship.

Then again, I just like spaceships. And giant bugs apparently. 😉

And not just that- Spike was the leader. He was in charge, making decisions. He felt responsible for the bugs. His time with the bugs (plus his entire storyline at IDW) was so much better than just a Buffy or Angel sidekick. He's more than that. These stories prove it.

I don't miss Spike's *ANYTHING* but Spike fans depicted as big, fat, alien cockroaches amuse me. And hey, it's canon.
 
I liked the ship. I think it showed how versatile Spike's character is. I mean, no wonder that Whedon thought (even if as a off-hand thought) that the only possible link between Serenity verse and Buffyverse would be Spike.
 
I really liked the spaceship, more specifically the bugs, they were awesome!
