I have looked aronud on this forum and i must be the only one who liked the speech Spike made about the world. It was one of my favorite things in all of the Buffy seasons. I just wanna know but does anybody else like that little speech and my very favorite part is:
"And then theres people. Billions of people walking arond like happy meals with legs."
That was the funniest thing that Spike ever said. I know a lot of people disagree but i loved that. After that speech Spike became my fav character.

Oh I'm sure you're not the only one. I wouldn't say that it's the funniest or best thing he's ever said but I like it. Too bad that he likes Manchester United though. That's why he never can be my favourite. 😉

Hehe, that's why I don't hate him. :P
My favorite thing was when he said, "Vampires! Grrr! Nasty! Let's annihilate them, for justice, and for...the safety of puppies...and Christmas, right? Let's fight that evil! Let's kill something! Oh, come on!"

And also, "Out. For. A. Walk...Bitch."

LOL about the Out.For.A.Walk..Bitch <3
Oh yeah, I liked that too. I don't know if that's what made him my favorite character, but yeah, it was pretty amusing.

It is a nice speech!
What I like most about it, actually, is not the humour, but the honesty. Like Spike himself said, most vampires are all creature of the darkness, wanting to destroy the world, but he acknowledges that the world is a nice place to be. This is one of Spike's best character traits and a reason for me to like him, he may have become a vampire, but he never lost his feelings. In a way he stayed very human, watching passions, liking the world, being madly in love. Can you imagine any other vampire helping Buffy out, on grounds of the world being a nice place?

Good point. I just had a little giggle fit at the thought of Angelus saying the world was a nice place to be. XD
It was a good speech. Makes me believe that Spike, despite his motives, was the most intelligent sane out of the three. Why would you want to destroy the world? Humans would be dead and you couldn't eat. It never made a whole lot of sense to me.

Definitely a great speech! Spike really began to grow as a character with that speech in my opinion.

Although the one thing that bugged me was that he supported Man U. If he's such a proud cockney then shouldn't he be supporting a team from London?

Most of the time that Spike spoke was great, when I first heard him I thought he was actually from London, the accent was good. My favourite dialouge comes from Season 2 also. It in Becoming Pt2, he's talking to Buffy by the police car:

'The truth is I like this world. You've got dog racing, Manchester United and you've got people. Billions of people walking around like Happy Meals with legs. it's all right here. Then someone comes along with a vision. With a real . . . passion for destruction. Angel could pull it off. Goodbye Piccadilly, farewell bloody Leister Square. You know what I'm saying.'

To me this is Spike at his best. So good I think I'll use it for my signautre below!

It's the first time we see him fighting alongside Buffy too, always a nice moment. I think the funniest scene is right after when he's silently sitting in the chair with Joyce asking "do I know you?" lol

With his accent I would agree that he shoud've have supported a London team.

But what we have to remember is that when the programme was scripted Man Utd were the most talked about team in the world, and so acted as a good reference point. I think it amused me when he also mentioned 'Dog Racing'!

Yes, at the time I'd say if any Americans knew of a UK football team, it was ManU.

Well personally i think it's bloody brilliant that Spike supports Man U, it shows he has taste (sw)

That speech is also one of my favourites from Spike, but the one in S7 in the episode Touched has to take no.1 spot for me. When he's speaking to buffy, it's just sooo cute and loving and Spuffyful! 😀

my all time favorite too
The quote that means the most to me would have to be in season 7.
When Buffy gets kicked out of her house by all the potentials.
Spike finds her in a random house and says she's "one hell of a woman"
It gave me chills.
