It seems to be that this particular spoiler leaves us with the following possiblities:

1. David Boreanaz was pulling our collective legs, and Angel will stay Angel, though perhaps emotionally traumatized at times
2. Angel will go into "Dark Angel" mode as a result of his appalling experiences, and will "fight fire with fire" (i.e. use evil methods to fight evil)
3. They'll somehow get Angel to turn into Angelus again, and he'll have a jolly time preying on the innocent until he gets his soul back (or is killed?)
4. They'll do the flashback and/or dream sequencing thing so that David can have his fun being a bad guy without overcomplicating the story.

Anyone have any more ideas?

I won't mind if they come up with a new, interesting thing to do with him losing his soul. Like you said, I'm just worried it'll get boring. I do like the leather pants, though. 😀 That's always a major plus.

I don't thin he could close to Cordy anymore..she's way too powerful now
 
or maybe W&H's plan would accidently backfire and try to do a spell to tear his soul from him but instead make him like a sink hole for lost souls and a whole bunch of malevolent souls plunge into him

Now, that's a *fascinating* idea. And they wouldn't even have to be truly malevolent souls, just conflicted and conflicting...

(BTW, has anyone seen an episode of either Angel or Buffy where Angel wore the leather pants in "good guy" mode?)
 
He wore them in a season three episode of "Angel".. i think possibly in "Carpe Noctem" when he was actually inhabited by the gentleman in the old people's home. There was another (or different from Carpe Noctem) when he wore them, but for the life of me, i can't remember which episode ::uh::
 
I'm trying to remember if he wore them in Buffy S3 when he was pretending to Faith and the Mayor to have lost his soul.
 
Just watched "Enemies" the other day, and nope, he didn't 🙁

Still can't remember which Season 3 episode featured "the pants".::nono::

FOUND IT!!!!

In the Season Three Episode "That Old Gang of Mine", Angel is wearing leather pants.. where as not the same as the infamous leather pants that he wore as Angelus during the latter half of Season 2 Buffy, they are leather all the same!.. check it out.. it's the scene where Angel discovers Merl's remains splattered all over his home. Then there's also a classic quote from Angel when, reading Cordy's list of Merl's enemies and seeing him at the top of it, he makes a sarcastic comment that he "turned dark and killed Merl" and Cordy makes a pointed look at Angel's pants but doesn't say a word!.. classic stuff.. ::evil1:: (plust that was the only quote that stuck in my mind as i was so distracted by those trousers!::drool:: )

But there you go 🙂

i wonder what it is that make us love angel so much in those leather pants but persoanlly i'd rather see him in NO PANTS!!!
 
If Angel became evil it would make it alot easier for Wesley to rejoin Angel Investigations, and would open the door for Connor to also join and become good. Connor saving Angels soul at the end of the new season would really bring father and son together.
 
I don't think W&H are still going to want to poke and prod him to find out why he can exist. He isn't a baby anymore and he has definitly proved that he can take care of himself. Besides, I think they would want to use him more to get at angel, like you said, anyway.
What I want to know is how Gunn and Fred are going to handle things. Without Cordelia, Angel, or Wesley there to tell them what to do, they aren't going to know what to do. Also, Connor can easily make them believe that he hasn't done anything to Angel and none of them know what's going on with Cordelia. I think it will be quite interesting to see what happens. Maybe another appearance by Wesley? I hope. I miss him!
 
I don't know, I think Wolfram & Hart are at least going to want to know whether Connor is human, half-human or Something New Entirely. (How they'll be able to determine this is another question...)

I agree that Fred and Gunn are going to have a tough time running AI on their own. I also hope it will lead to their trying to reconcile with Wesley, even for pragmatic reasons.

What Connor does next is another wildcard. What do you do when you're still a teenager and you've already achieved your lifelong goal of wreaking a terrible revenge on your (biological) father?
 
Connor, i believe, isn't entirely human. Well, genetically he is, but his parents are/were vampires.. that's got to count for something. And judging from the latter half of the third season from Connor's reappearance, the way he fights, can jump on top of buses, and jump in general, his super-sensitive hearing, he's inherited some of his father's vampiric qualities, so i don't think he's entirely human.

My thoughts on Connor: he's been easily led a pawn from the time of his kidnap, an instrument of revenge. Basically, brainwashed.. he believed what Holtz told him because he knew no better, and because he loved his "father" the way a child loves a parent, he was devastated by his murder and was only too ready to believe that it was Angel that killed him. It's what he's been taught about Angel and vampires in general. Ke knows no other way (and plus living in a hell dimension wouldn't have helped either). If he needs to be shown the truth, it's going to have to come from someone who has a connection to AI but isn't as involved as before... in other words, Wesley. Wesley took him from Angel under the misguidance of the false prophecy, and therefore Wesley could be the one person who could make Connor see Angel for the person he is now (hoping that Wes doesn't slide too far into the dark side). But those are my thoughts anyway 🙂

I think that it'd be wrong for Connor to become completely evil (though it would be an interesting comparison to watch, considering his father's past history both human and vampire..) as Connor is essentially just a teen. Redemption is an extremely strong theme running through the series (probably the theme most of the time). Plus, i don't think Angel will turn on his son, remembering what he told him before they threw him and his coffin over the side, Connor is easily led,, very angry and full of teen angst. Not a very good combination.

I hope that made some sense, as i said, these are my thoughts 🙂

can't see wesley having much time for connor tho'.doesn't really want to get back in the loop .yet anywaykinda connor's fault wesley's friends deserted him.its going to be interesting to see connor's reaction when(if?) he finds out the truth.find out his whole lifes a lie.theres gonna be an unholy mess in that revelations wake.
i don't think wesley's going to slip to the darkside more he's going care less about the light for a while.i hope.(ats always better when things are not black and white)
 
How is it "kinda" Connor's fault for Wesley's exclusion from AI (for want of a better description)?. Connor was just a baby.. Wesley was looking out for his best interests, Wesley honestly believed the prophecy that foretold (we now know falsely) that Angel would kill his son.. (so if there was anyone to blame, i'd guess it would be Sahjian for falsifying it).

Perhaps Wesley would approach Connor, not the other way around. I think he'd have time for him, if nothing else, for general curiosity at how the boy has turned out (not very well in this case it would seem) 🙂
