at the end of conversations with dead plp when joyce told dawn that buffy wouldnt pick her,what did she mean as it was never revealed in the show??

There was an ep later on which showed that given the choice (I think?) between saving the world or Dawn that Buffy would have to choose the world. At least that's how I remember it - I could be slightly wrong - but it definitely came up. I think it was theoretical rather than practical though...
