08/06 - In retaliation to Robin starting to date, Ted goes on a date with a girl named Amy. Barney comes along as her friend's date, Melanie. Melanie keeps throwing herself at Barney, but he is too upset to notice because Ted spends the whole time getting drunk and making out with Amy in an attempt to win the breakup. Amy, who is also trying to win her break up with her ex-boyfriend Stiv, takes Ted to the tattoo parlor where Stiv works to make him jealous. 08/01 - Robin starts dating a guy she met in Brazil, Gael, who paints seashells by the seashore. He is also a surfer, sculptor, flamenco guitarist, chef, and massage therapist. 07/20 - Said Carter [Bay], "In the first episode, Barney is sitting at his computer, just there at work, or whatever. And he gets a phone call from Marshall, who's like, 'Hey, check your email.' So, Barney opens up his email from Marshall and there's a link to a Website. It's slapcountdown.com. And it's going to literally be a ticking clock... to when the slap will occur." 07/19 - The season premiere will focus on the aftermath of Ted and Robin's breakup. Also, a major hint will be dropped about the Mother.
