They need to work on getting back to L.A. first. The season starts with Fred and Gunn, alone, wondering what the heck happened to everyone. Angel and Cordy have been missing for three months, and Gunn, Fred and Connor are desperately looking for them. It's Angel who reappears first--after finding a way out of underwater captivity--only to find out Cordy is gone.

Not right away. He learns he needs to obtain an ancient relic called the Axis in order to find her. When he discovers its location, however, someone else has gotten to it first, a new character named Gwen, who has a mysterious electrical power. Angel tells Gwen that someone he loves very much is missing, and he needs the Axis in order to find her.

Three of them showed up at the WB party on Saturday night: J. August Richards (Gunn), Alexis Denisof (Wesley) and Amy Acker (Fred). I spent the most time talking to Amy, who looked truly radiant, most likely because of the gorgeous new shiny thing on her finger. She got engaged four days ago in Australia.

I saw part of a first-ep script that looks amazing. It has one of the central characters "dying" at the hands of the new character, Gwen. Angel bends down, checks for a pulse and declares the person dead. Last night, I asked Joss about the storyline, and he said, "It's the first time I've heard it. We're not killing [that person]. I love [that person]." He then joked, "I mean, uh, yes, they're all in peril! I can kill any of them at any minute, so they all must behave." Which means...believe what you like. My guess is that the "dead" will somehow arise. But we have to be patient little puppies and wait and see.

Yes. But given Joss' response, I think it's best not to spread a possibly untrue rumor.
