I think she's great... just brushing off all of Kennedy's attempts to aggravate her.

Also, Kennedy is trying awfully hard to convince herself and everyone else of Buffy's straightness.

Having some Willow worries there, are we, Ken?

is that Kennedy or the writers trying to convince us? Im not really sure

My thoughts exactly...seems like they are trying to quell the flames of that Batsu ignited
Considering Kennedy wasn't even on the same continent as Buffy and Satsu when all that happened, she's hardly in any position to know what she's talking about. Whatever her motivations, she very clearly has zero understanding of what happened. Really, nobody besides Buffy and Satsu know what was said between them... just that they slept together.

Quelling the flames is hardly something Joss & Co. are known for. I'm sure the Batsu thing wasn't written just to fill up pages. Clearly they intend to go somewhere with it.

Kennedy is trying (way too hard, here) to convince herself that Buffy is straight as an arrow and therefore no threat to her with Willow.

"Sleeping Beauty wasn't gay. And neither is Buffy." But Sleeping Beauty wasn't kissed awake by a girl, either.

Satsu just rocks.

im still not convinced. Reading this i almost wish the writers have enough foresight to have a deeper plot for Batsu but im just sure. They seem at every turn to reject it. They need to pick one, and have 'Buffy' herself come out clean.
Is anyone else getting Kensu vibes?

Now that would be one awkward love square

that would make for an intersting Buffy and Willow dynamic

Nope. I was afraid I would be, but this preview has allayed my fears a bit. No shark-jumping cliche yet.

Maybe we'll end up getting a great big lesbian orgy =D
That whole scene sucked to me. It seemed like it was written so the writers can convince us "Buffy's straight, she's straight." Instead of simply letting it go and moving on and having Kennedy and Satsu go through a new adventure and not really mention it, just like they barely mentioned Buffy's name in Season 3 of Angel when she died, why can't the same happen here?

I don't think that's what they were doing. I think they were trying to convince us that Kennedy really, really wants Buffy to be straight.

I loved this preview, I'm extremely excited for this issue now. I'm definitely a Satsu fan, enough so that I hope she gets a love interest other than Buffy one of these days. Honestly I kind of like Kennedy too sometimes....okay very little of the time.... but sometimes I think she has the potential to be a female Dean or a Han Solo and that it just failed on screen, but I'm seeing that come through a little bit in the comics.

Heh. I guess I'm the only one here who enjoyed these previews. 🙂

As I believe that Buffy is straight, and I'm happy that Kennedy is stating it more than once. It was kind of ironic that Kennedy said "Don't be a brat slinky!" and "I don't like amateurs crowding me" cause it's pretty much what I loathed about her character in season seven.. though she did say "that's my profession" so at least she's aware of the fact! It's a little self-deprecating which is fun.

WOW Satsu is such a sweet girl. I wanna beat the crap out of Kennedy. Hate the way she talks to people.

It less about me caring about Buffys sexual preference and more about how the writers are treating us like idiots trying to drill it into us that NO NO! she IS straight.

But, as has been said, it could just be Kennedy's insecurities and not the writers.

As I believe that Buffy is straight,

I mean no offense. Really, I don't. And I hate to keep having to bring this up. But I need to point out again:

If we're going to be using the labels here, then we need to use them correctly. That's the pitfall of using labels: sometimes the one you want to use is not the correct one.

These words have specific meanings. "Straight" in this context means "someone who is exclusively sexually attracted to members of the opposite gender." That excludes, by definition, "someone who enjoys sex with members of the same gender."

Someone who enjoys sex with members of both genders, as Buffy has been shown to do, is "bisexual." That's the label that applies here, if one must.

Just as "gay" would be an inaccurate descriptor, so is "straight."

This is not a matter of opinion, but of correct or incorrect usage of the terminology, as applied to what's been shown to us right there on the page.

The notion that this was some kind of slumber-party experiment or drunken mistake on Straight Buffy's part is directly contradicted by every aspect of the incident as recorded in the comics. It was a deliberate, enjoyable interaction with emotional resonance for both women. It's not an aberration in Buffy's sexual history. It is an addition to it.

Buffy has not seen fit to apply any of these sexual labels to herself. People have only been doing so on her behalf, both inside and outside the comic. And as we continue to see, this only leads to conflict.

And I think anyone can see that in this preview, Kennedy is the Queen of Not Knowing What She's Talking About. What possible basis does she have to comment so extensively here? Did she listen in on any of the conversations between Buffy and Satsu? No. She's just wigging because for the first time, she has to picture the Mighty Buffy as a potential rival for Willow. And she's trying to reassure herself.

So, by that definition, wouldn't Willow be bi-sexual, too? She's had sexual relations with both sexes, and there's no guarantee that she might not have another male lover sometime in the future.
I think whatever's in that bag is going to keep them too busy for that.
Hmm. What is in the bag? I'm guessing it wasn't monster's lunch. Or maybe it was...

Satsu seems a little spacey or something, and Kennedy almost seemed like she was trying to be nice there at the very end. That, alone, tips me off that Kennedy is up to no good. But something else off. I don't know what it is, I can't put my finger on it.

But, it's just 3 pages out of, what, 11? Hum, these comics are way too short.
