Spring Clean ๐Ÿ˜

I need to clean my fridge out,I think there's some not edible veg lurking in there!

Using cherry blossom washing up liquid to clean puts me in a good mood because it smells nice.

I need to give the washing machine a clean out too, I think I have enough soda crystals to do a wash cycle then just need to give the seals a wipe over.

Ugh. It was stupid and self indulgent to go on so many walks over winter. The house is a disaster. So much dust. Mice have invaded the kitchen. Luckily my pantries are mouseproof, but I know they have been hanging around the bin. Now there are 8 traps all in a row there. Maybe I should save up for a sealed bin too but seems a lot of money for a bucket with a lid.

I just have to clean everything. Ceiling to floor. Vacuum the walls. Polish all the furniture. Find homes for everything thats all over the floor.

I had been collecting cans and bottles on my walks but I cant claim the cash on them because it will affect the pension so Im going to donate them to the bush fire brigade. There is a big bin not far from me if I can manage to take one bag a night, I can clear some space under the carport and have less space for snakes to hide!

The garden is going good at least lol. I have one big central garden bed which needs a bit of work, but I want to wait for the bulbs to finish flowering before I mess with that. Plus, it would just be a distraction from cleaning the house like I should be.

Walls are vacuumed. The entire kitchen scrubbed down, ceiling to floor, doors and all, peppermint oil on all the window sills and pantry.

Lounge room is next, but the mice dont bother with this room, or any other. This is why I hate open plan homes. Its so nice to be able to close a door on a room! Especially on the kitchen!

I still haven't checked out that kmart steam cleaner but I think its cheap enough to risk getting, even if its shite. The bathroom roof mould just keeps coming back, so I need an easier way to keep it at bay.

Half of the patio is spotless. I even vacuumed it! I had the vac out there after cleaning my car. The other half is less clean, but its also properly outside so its clean considering that! I just want to have it as cleared as possible so I can see snakes over summer. Already had a baby bobtail up on the back step. Silly thing. I was playing with the pond when it tried to climb the back step to get inside. I was asking it were it thought it was going, but all I got was a hiss in reply.

I need to give the kitchen a deep clean, take everything out of the cupboards and wash it all down.

Also go through the food cupboard and see what needs using up.

It is actually spring here, so this thread is handy for me.

Today I dusted and swept off all the cobwebs from the windows. Sprayed peppermint oil all around again.

Reorganised my coffee and tea area. Scrubbed the airfryer and under it.

I am thinking of rearranging the patio... But that is possibility a way to avoid doing the vacuuming, which is the next job.

Also time to scrub the fridge again, and sort the freezer in a way that nothing falls out when I open the door!

I wish someone would invent a Lazy Susan fridge where all the shelves could rotate so that stuff at the back of the fridge could be spun around to the front so you didn't have to pull everything else out of the fridge to get at something. I would pay a premium for that.

They do Lazy Susans designed for fridges. Not a complete fridge admittedly, but perhaps better than nothing.

I still havent done the fridge haha. Its lucky that I live alone so its never too overfull, but things can get lost. I put all my mustards and sauces and jars in a plastic box together down the bottom at the back because I only need those in specific situations. So now I just drag the whole box out when I need it, rather than shuffling through jars.

Fruit, eggs and leftovers on the top shelf. Dairy and Bunny food in the middle shelf (it keeps the best there for some reason). Dog food, defrosting meat, carrots and sauces on the bottom shelf. The veggie draw has the rest of the veg stuff, but I think its dumb to put the veggie draw at the bottom, and if I ever get rich I will buy a fridge with a veggie draw in the middle.

I did sort out my freezer which is pretty much always overfull... Also a result of living alone haha. I dont have as much meat in there as I thought, but I do have two bags of blueberries!

Still not done the vacuuming either ugh. But I did steam clean the shower until the steamer ran out of steam ๐Ÿ˜€ I'll have another go at that today too.

I believe the vegetables are placed in the bottom drawer because of air circulation in fridges, which is why some things keep better in one place than in another.
I still have not gone through my kitchen cupboards.

I did give away the half dead and vastly outgrown it's pot, aloe vera plant I had in there. It was on top of a cupboard that I could barely reach, so that the cat couldn't reach it so its found a new home now. Where it can be loved!

I'm still going through my books and clothes to donate to the charity shop, took two bags this week.

I cleaned one night table because we got a new fibre optic modem and they took both other modems away that were sitting on it in the dust. The fibre optic modem is in the dining room.

Already broke the seal on the steam cleaner. It still seals good enough, I just have to make sure I don't lose the ring bit when I am refilling. Stream cleaned the kitchen sink and flywire and some spots on the carpet. I won't be able to tell if it really worked on the carpet until it's dry tomorrow, but it looked like it did.

Must vacuum again soon. I've never lived in a house that was so dusty! Although Ive probably never lived in a house this old either. I did dust the fans, but then didn't vacuum whatever came off them so in the end just spread it all around anyway.

My dishwasher no longer does the wash bit so I have been handwashing all my dishes again. I am stronger now, so it's not as hard as it used to be, but Im still finding my posture must wrong and end up with nerve pain in my face, arms and legs so I gotta figure out a better way. Or get a new dishwasher lol.

I cleaned out my fridge. Took out everything that was in it, including a couple of forgotten cheeses at the back that were in the process of evolving into new lifeforms, all the half-empty, half-frozen jars of stuff at the back of the top shelf (I am cleaning and keeping the glass jars, because they may be useful; perhaps I should make some jam), removed and washed all the shelves and vegetable container and cleaned the inside with water from the kettle and bicarbonate of soda.

I appear to have eight unopened bars of chocolate and three open ones. This is naturally the fault of @nightshade ๐Ÿ˜€

It is currently off (which means the freezer is too, so I can't do it for too long) with the door open drying out.

Tomorrow has to be a garden day for me I must mow again. And poison behind the shed. Everyone was warning me about snakes today, so I gotta clean it up or risk being jump scared by sticks.

Want to vacuum the car too and sweep off the carport and patio.

I want to sort out my bedding, I have too many sets and I want to get rid of a few to make it easier to put them all away.
