Spuffies Vote

Spuffy is the underdog I think, so I'd be happy if we made it through the first round. I think that's as far as they got last time 🙂

I agree. When this vote is over, Bangelers need to officiallly stop saying that they're the underdog ship. Maybe it was like that five years ago, but I think things have changed. We'll see, I guess.

we're the most popular ship on the boards which is a blessing & a curse! We have the most fans but we have the most detractors as well!
Oh well that's life! #TeamSpuffy

Just checked on the vote for Round 2 and Spuffy is not even in the Top 6. Makes me smile how Bangels think they are the underdogs, when these votes show that it's actually Spuffy. This board is incredibly Bangel-y, it's just funny how the Bangel fans dont even realise it 😀

This board is Spuffy dominated. But there are people like me who don't ship either Bangel or Spuffy that vote for the underdogs.😉

Meh...I haven't voted. I'd rather be one of the discerning than one of the masses. 🙂 Look...Dawn's Knock Three Times beat Brown Sugar by the Stones to No 1. Ditto The Seekers' The Carnival Is Over beat The Who's My Generation; Little Jimmy Osmond (Long Haired Lover from Liverrpool) beat Bowie (Jean Genie) and (this I can't forgive) Shaddap Your Face by Joe Dolce beat Vienna by Ultravox. 😱😱😱

Found this (by Barbara Creed): "the classic male monster, in order to challenge the phallocentric symbolic [read patriarchy] from within, is aligned with the realm of the feminine, the animal and death, to some spectators he is a repulsive threatening beast, to others a creature who signifies rebellion and change. One of the reasons the male monster is such a sympathetic figure is precisely because he is caught between the opposing forces of culture and nature, the civilised and the primitive”. The uncanny male monster (and Spike is uncanny...Angel is not) brings to light things that patriarchy would prefer to remain hidden. I feel totally vindicated by 11 #12!...I'll take right over might any day! 🙂

Maybe it was like that five years ago, but I think things have changed.
Interesting comment - in light of the above.

Bangel beat Spuffy by a landslide last time. If everybody votes for the underdogs, then you can't really call them underdogs, can you?

Definitely! I think a lot of Bangel voters haven't accepted that they are actually Bangels yet. If you truly are neutral, you'd vote for them equally, not put Bangel at number 1 and Spuffy at number 12

You do make a very good point here, though Long Haired Lover from Liverpool is a classic 🙂

This is Spike. He is aligned with the feminine and does signify change and rebellion, both in the show and in himself.

Yeah to the good ship Spuffy !

Actually it is not a question of how many supporters a ship has got but of how clever the supporters vote. You can not only give points by ranking a ship on top, you can also reduce points by ranking a ship at last place. Spuffy is surprisingly often voted to be at the last place by those, who put Bangel at the first place. You cannot say the same vice versa. Except for my own vote. But what can I say ? I have always been bad....

Go vote in the 3rd and final Round of the ship tournament if you haven't already. It's going to be close, currently only 1 point stands between 1st place and joint 2nd.
