Congrat! Your banner is amazing!
1. Ever been moved to tears by a Spike/Buffy scene?
I recently (finally) got S7 and I seriously can't stop watching Beneath You (and still cry everytime) and the end of Chosen gets me too.

2. How likely is it that Buffy and Spike would discuss their Ex's and other past relationships with one another?
Not much...they haven't been fully inside each other's private lives, but have still been at least in each other's lives to have as much info as they need already

3. Biting is often a feature in fanfiction love scenes. What do you think, would Buffy ever allow Spike to bite her during sex?
Who said he hasn't already? (normal, not vampire-type biting)

4. The funniest Spike and Buffy moment?
The early part of Something Blue with their bickering cracks me up everytime

5. Do you think we'll ever get a canonical (in text) clarification as to whether or not Buffy meant her "I love you", or do you think Joss will keep us guessing for ever and ever and ever?
I swear I have read that it's been said that the moment that their hands met she loved him...?

I am so happy this place is here... where I can be with other Spuffy shippers! (totally no fun & kinda even crazy trying to discuss episodes and such by myself)

New Question Time 🙂

1: What is the best wordless Buffy and Spike moment (you know what i mean - a shared look or glance, a reaction - but with no words)

2: Imagine Spike and Buffy are going on a date. What are they gonna do?

3: In the episode Crush Spike wears clothes other than his traditional ensemble – any theories as to why?

4: Do you think Buffy knows about Spike's poetic inclinations?

5: If you're into the comics - How are you feeling about the recent announcements regarding season nine and the possible implications for Spuffy? (see: https://www.buffy-boards.com/showthread.php?t=53763)

Answere any or all 🙂

I promised myself I was not going to read spoilers but you've made it too hard!
1: What is the best wordless Buffy and Spike moment (you know what i mean - a shared look or glance, a reaction - but with no words)
There are lots of good ones but I think my favorite is in Potential Buffy's trying to look at Spike's wounds and their hands meet and they look at each other all special..

2: Imagine Spike and Buffy are going on a date. What are they gonna do?
I think they'd go kill things, to be honest.

3: In the episode Crush Spike wears clothes other than his traditional ensemble – any theories as to why?
He wants to impress Buffy. He knows that Buffy's into Riley because he's all "normal" and so he dresses up more "normal" so that she sees he can be that way too. It's really one of the cutest gestures Spike has ever done IMO.

4: Do you think Buffy knows about Spike's poetic inclinations?
We've discussed here in The Back Steps how much Buffy knows about William... and talking about the poetry in specific is a slightly different story. I don't think Buffy knows anything of it.. I hope it will be a pleasant surprise. I've had this thought/dream time and time again... Buffy and Spike are sitting in Buffy's apartment in season 9, and Spike has written a poem about/for her. Here's where I have different versions... Version one is Spike says "I, um... nevermind." and Buffy says "No, what?" And he looks away and she said "Spike, don't do this. What is it? I thought we were passed all that avoidy crap" and he says "it's nothing, really... I just... um... I wrote you a poem." And she says "You write poetry?! Read it to me!" And he says "No, it's not very good... really... I don't know why I even brought it up to begin with" and she says "Spike, read it to me." And he reads it and she loves it. Version two is Buffy is moving Spike's jacket and the poem falls out of his pocket... she asks about it and he's all avoidy and then she opens it, reads a couple lines and he tells her what it is and reads it to her, she loves it. 🙂

5: If you're into the comics - How are you feeling about the recent announcements regarding season nine and Spuffy?
I didn't see anything in that thread regarding Spuffy... I feel good about Fangel. And I think that that relationship (and it will be a relationship, or so help me god) will be good for Spuffy because it will make it so Buffy doesn't even HAVE to look at Angel again. 🙂

Your answer to number four is possibly the best thing ever.

great answers!
1: What is the best wordless Buffy and Spike moment (you know what i mean - a shared look or glance, a reaction - but with no words)

The scene on porch in Fool For Love.

2: Imagine Spike and Buffy are going on a date. What are they gonna do?

-- kill evil things

-- have wild sex

-- buy a big take-out for Buffy and pig's bllod for Spike and have their meal right in the car.

-- have wild sex again

3: In the episode Crush Spike wears clothes other than his traditional ensemble "“ any theories as to why?

I think he tried to transform himself into a guy Buffy could date. He found an outfit that let him mingle with human crowd.

4: Do you think Buffy knows about Spike's poetic inclinations?

I frankly doubt it. I'd love to see her discover Spike's poetry: "My heart expands/'tis grown a bulge in it..." - Spike you mean that your heart is in your penis?" 🙂

5: If you're into the comics - How are you feeling about the recent announcements regarding season nine and the possible implications for Spuffy?

I don't like that they don't promote Spuffy at all. They promoted the hell out of Bangel. I don't expect much - I think there will be snark, banter, UST, maybe a smoochie. But I'm gonna make the most of it. I got used to crumbs.

I'm going to do the last two question-y segments, because I really like the last one! 😉

1. Ever been moved to tears by a Spike/Buffy scene?
Better question: have you every *not* been moved to tears by a Spuffy scene? lol. No really, Spuffy is the couple that gets the most tears out of me. I know it sounds silly, but I cried like a baby at the end of Intervention. It was so sweet. It just... it's hard to explain. But that was how love should work. And the fact that Spike probably wasn't even going to tell the real Buffy... God, I love Spuffy. So much.

2. How likely is it that Buffy and Spike would discuss their Ex's and other past relationships with one another?
I find it impossible to imagine Spike and Buffy chatting about Buffy and Angel's relationship.
BUFFY: I loved him more that I will ever love anything in this life!
SPIKE: *classic Spike "you're kidding" look) http://www.screencap-paradise.com/caps/displayimage.php?pid=617999&fullsize=1
So yeah... no. I can sort of see them talking about Cecily, though.

3. Biting is often a feature in fanfiction love scenes. What do you think, would Buffy ever allow Spike to bite her during sex?
I'm fairly sure that ship has sailed.

4. The funniest Spike and Buffy moment?
From Tabula Rasa. When Spike just figured out he's a vampire, and is going on about how he must be noble a help the helpless and all that stuff and he's all excited, and Buffy just looks totally bored.
SPIKE: I'm a vampire with a soul.
BUFFY: A vampire with a soul? Oh my god, how lame is that?

5. Do you think we'll ever get a canonical (in text) clarification as to whether or not Buffy meant her "I love you", or do you think Joss will keep us guessing for ever and ever and ever?
Nope, and I really hope we don't. *I'm* totally sure Buffy meant it, but I like that it's in the viewer's hands to decide. The ambiguity is what connects the relationship to the audience.

and now part 2...

1: What is the best wordless Buffy and Spike moment (you know what i mean - a shared look or glance, a reaction - but with no words)
Eeek! There are so many! I think I'm going to have to go with Touched, when Buffy's lying in his arms, and they're looking into each other's eyes... perfect.

2: Imagine Spike and Buffy are going on a date. What are they gonna do?
Drink tequila and go to a demon bar. Because honestly, I thought they both had the *best* time in Life Serial.

3: In the episode Crush Spike wears clothes other than his traditional ensemble – any theories as to why?
Because he wanted to show Buffy he was a guy she could date. Same reason he held the door for her and generally acted really weird.

4: Do you think Buffy knows about Spike's poetic inclinations?
I'm not sure she knows all the gory details ("my heart hath spake!"), but I think she knew he wrote it. I can see him telling Buffy he wrote really silly, stupid poetry before became a vamp in FFL, and then just leaving it at that.

1: What is the best wordless Buffy and Spike moment (you know what i mean - a shared look or glance, a reaction - but with no words)

For Spike it has to be watching the freshly resurrected Buffy walk down the stairs. For Buffy it's the loving/proud looks she gives him as she rescues him in Showtime.

2: Imagine Spike and Buffy are going on a date. What are they gonna do?

A drink at the pub, then a Movie follwed by patrolling theri favourite graveyard.

3: In the episode Crush Spike wears clothes other than his traditional ensemble – any theories as to why?

I agree with what others have said - it was an attempt to look normal; to be the kind of bloke Buffy might be interested in. I thought he looked odd but very nice.

4: Do you think Buffy knows about Spike's poetic inclinations?

No. Not at all. I think Fool For Love showed us that Spike was, in that instance an unreliable narrator - I don't think he would have told Buffy that part.

5: If you're into the comics - How are you feeling about the recent announcements regarding season nine and the possible implications for Spuffy?

Feeling pretty good. I don't mind at all that Spike isn't getting his own mini. It makes me exponentionally happy that he will be "too busy" in Buffy's story to warrent his own book. Spike is back where he belongs 🙂 It also makes me happy the the writer who will be co-writing season 9 with Joss is a fan of season six and Spike and Buffy's relationship. I think we have a good set-up for Buffy and Spike's continuing story (we've just found out that according to Willow, Buffy "kicked in doors" to confirm that Spike was alive); there is unresolved feelings and misunderstandings to deal with as well as the mission/big bad of the season to deal with. I'm really really looking forward to season nine 🙂

1: What is the best wordless Buffy and Spike moment (you know what i mean - a shared look or glance, a reaction - but with no words)

Buffy's reaction at the end of beneath you, when it dawns on her that, and why, Spike got his soul back

2: Imagine Spike and Buffy are going on a date. What are they gonna do?

Go to the bronze, listen to some music to loosen up, chat about past achievements/battles with demons, then some slower music for a more intimate dance.

3: In the episode Crush Spike wears clothes other than his traditional ensemble – any theories as to why?

He does it on a few occasions, and its usually when he's trying to deny his demon-side to his personality, so maybe it was a case of this.

4: Do you think Buffy knows about Spike's poetic inclinations?

He doesn't seem to get much opportunity to show this side of his personality to Buffy during the tv seasons, as Buffy always needs him to be strong for her, but maybe that can develop in the comics

5: If you're into the comics - How are you feeling about the recent announcements regarding season nine and the possible implications for Spuffy?

I havn't kept up much with the comics yet, once I've finished my latest rewatch, I may move on to them and have more of an opinion about this, for now I have to make sure I avoid spoilers 🙂

Just one? That's a tough assignment! ;)
I got a discussion question to keep us busy while we work on the Show and Tell;

Originally posted on my livejournal;

Did Buffy allow Spike to tie her up and/or handcuff her during their relationship in season 6?

I have engaged in a variety of discussions with fans about this topic, and the opinion is rather divided.

There are two reasons I believe Buffy allowed Spike to tie her up and handcuff her. Both of the clues are in "Dead Things".

Firstly, when Buffy asks Tara about the spell that brought her back, she is rather obviously rubbing her wrists. The camera even pans down on them to emphasize the point.

Also, later in the Bronze, Buffy looks visibly shocked and most notably guilty when Willow mentions that she has been busy and "all tied up."

Many fans have pointed out, that if Buffy did in fact allow Spike to tie her up and/or handcuff her, then why would she have told him she could "never" trust him? Though suggestive of the fact, this comment does not prove anything. Or, perhaps the question should be; why would she allow herself to be a vulnerable position with someone dangerous, someone she didn't trust? See, I believe Buffy did trust Spike, and I believe she allowed him to tie her up and handcuff her.* Why? Spike was right all along; Buffy had a death wish, and using her relationship with Spike - who could have seriously hurt or killed her - was a way for her to flirt with death. In hoping for it, she purposely put herself in compromising situations where she knew she could get hurt. It's classic behavior for someone who"˜s depressed, which of course Buffy was.

(*Re: Trust: See, Buffy's actions in the later part of this episode prove that she did in fact trust Spike, contrary to what she says earlier. After she thinks she'd killed Katrina, Spike tells her he's going to take her home to her bed and says he'll "sort this out. Trust me." She doesn't answer, but the next time we see her she is in fact in her bed, so we can determine that she did in fact initially allow Spike to take her home and handle it. Not to mention that in her dreamscape, she fantasizes about him in her bed, which surely suggests intimacy and trust.)

So, that's my theory.

What do you all think? Did Buffy allow Spike to handcuff and/or tie her up? If yes, why? If not, how do you explain the clues as to otherwise?

I think so, yes. I think what Buffy did with Spike and what she said about and to him were two totally different things... her mind and her body (heart) were at war with each other. I think she was mostly trying to convince herself that she didn't feel what she felt.

1: What is the best wordless Buffy and Spike moment (you know what i mean - a shared look or glance, a reaction - but with no words)

"After-Life" - Buffy and Spike looking at each other as Buffy walks down the stairs and Spike realizes it's the real Buffy. Then, both of them walking in the living room, sitting down, Buffy letting Spike hold her hands, and that brief moment where they look into each other eyes (again) before Buffy speaks.

2: Imagine Spike and Buffy are going on a date. What are they gonna do?

Order spicy Buffalo wings and blooming onions, and then play pool. The night ends with a bit of rough and tumble. By that, I mean patrolling...hello? 😉 😀

3: In the episode Crush Spike wears clothes other than his traditional ensemble "“ any theories as to why?

I think to show Buffy that he can be more ordinary, more like a regular person, and ultimately good rather than a bad-ass vampire.

4: Do you think Buffy knows about Spike's poetic inclinations?

Nope. It would be awesome if they explored that in the comics.

5: If you're into the comics - How are you feeling about the recent announcements regarding season nine and the possible implications for Spuffy?

More excited than I already was! 😀

i hope i still have time to make some spuffy art 😀 after i finish my icons for round 4 ill make sweet banners and such 🙂
