Which Spuffy do you like better?
The Spuffy in the show or the Spuffy in the comics better & why.
I enjoy reading the comics and I love their scenes together but it never compares to me to James Marsters and Sarah Michelle Gellar on TV during Season 7 so I prefer the tv show Spuffy!
What about you?

Same here!
Well I miss seeing them acted live for sure as it adds so much nuance/depth to what we see about how they are feeling. I'd give a heck of a lot to have S8-11 acted by SMG/JM (maybe even a kidney) but sadly (and perhaps luckily!) that isn't ever going to happen.

I can't say I prefer Spuffy in an overall sense in the TV show more than the comics though, because it is all one complete story. So I assume you don't mean to pick a favourite stage for them?? I wouldn't want to lose where they have gotten to, lose any of their story/progress. But if it was the simple case that someone was either going to take away all my comics or take away all my dvds, then I'd have to say goodbye to the comics and just know that the story would still live on in my memory. But that is about preferring the medium of the live show to the comics, not really about preferring Spuffy earlier to later, if you see what I mean. 😛

If you are talking about the medium then take my kidney too to have s08-s11 on screen, prefer watching Spuffy live and as Sarah/James way more than cartoon version of them but poor actors had to be turned into vampires first to look the same for so many years still I could donate half a kidney for a reboot with different actors but with same chemistry.
If talking about Spuffy storyline, then I don't really prefer any one over other mostly cuz I watched and read s01-s11 all in one go without a break so I see it as a whole rather than two different parts. S01,03 and 08 are my least favorite Spuffy wise and that scene in season 10 where Buffy goes in to Spike's mind and find out exactly how much he loves her is my most favorite Spuffy scene ever, might be even more than the "touched" scene if that's possible. So I really can't give up comics option also. The progression in the series was so brilliant to make me such a fan and it continued throughout the comics maybe take away season 08 but s09 pregnancy scare and their progression with them finally dating for two seasons, no can't give it up

They have a better relationship in the comics, but even them fighting on tv is bettter than the best moment between them in the comics. And that's nothing against the comics, tv is just more entertaining. I love the comics, but recreating Sarah and James with pictures and speech bubbles can't ever have the same emotional impact that Spuffy on screen had.

Yes that's it, the visual of live actors adds so much more and gives it more impact, but the Spuffy story through the whole series is gold regardless of the medium. 🙂

The comics don't really compare to having SMG and JM on screen emoting their hearts out and looking sexy doing it. But the relationship between Buffy and Spike is so much better in the comics, and for me that's important. I love that they are a happy couple, accepted by everyone, building a life together. I loved the show but I am so happy to have the comics.

I think I only love Spuffy in the comics because I fell for it so hard on screen. I am so glad w got more to the story but I'll chip in a kidney for that reboot with SMG and JM. Kind gives a whole new meaning to crowd funding.

lol, well that's three we've got so far. I'm not sure what they'd do with them, but perhaps it's the thought that counts! :)

I totally agree with this!
Spuffy in the comics is amazing but the show Spuffy is out of this world!!!

Oh no!! I lol'd in that karma comment
@Priceless "I've gone back to the lol, so don't worry :-0"
Thank God for that! It was like Basil Fawlty and "Don't mention the War"! I half anticipated the invasion of Poland!

I enjoy the comics. They're a different art form and I'm still adjusting to their subtleties but there's a logical progression from the TV series and I like Spuffy where it is today. That said, carry on donating parts of your anatomy but don't ask me to sacrifice my DVDs.

PS. My mate Victor says he'll give you a good price on the spare kidney.

Good enough to buy us a reboot? ;p
I don't know yet bc I haven't read much of the comics yet, but I think I will always love onscreen Spuffy more than anything else. I wish the series had been continued in novel form, not in the form of comics. It would have saved the art work confusion (bc it really de-familiarises the characters when they look so different as cartoons), and it would have helped made it easier to get into their interior mind-space more intimately than comics can with thought bubbles.

I'd be grateful for recommendations on the best/most romantic Spuffy comics to read from anyone that's done more reading than me, tho! Any links to good reviews of S10 Relationship Status: Complicated? I've only got one Buffy comic book, and it's Season 10, Old Demons. (Not loving the illustrations -- Buffy and Spike are not drawn convincingly at all, especially Spike). And I'm not blown away by the Spuffy in it. To me, it seems like an intellectualized, water-ed down version of their relationship, Spuffy-Lite, not the real thing. But that's just my impression from Old Demons - it could be misleading. Either way I'm so thankful that there is a continuation of Spuffy - anything to extend their storyline, and I'm glad they are established as a couple! <3

That cover might be one of the greatest things I've seen in a long time <3

And so say all of us!
Ok, I'm hoping to carry on posting on the S7 rewatch thread soon, so I'm just putting down here my new rules about posting. Bit like Dua Lipa except without the big bucks, awards and talent.
1. Thou shall not post, or underage any acitivity of significance or complexity, after looking at this artwork. In other words, say and do nothing, because anything I say or do may be taken down as evidence and used against me.
2. Don't take to a stiff G and T - you'll be plastered in no time.
3. Wear a bib.
