I agree with you Jenny. I think it's really hard to make a relationship any good if you can't be physical with one another. The only way Bangel would work would be if Angel Shanshued (like my word?) and after Season 5, we know that won't happen.

You didn't invent the word "Shanshu" and you know it :P

You are dead-on here. And again...another example of the evilness that is Joss! He made sure (with S5 of Angel) that most of us would assume that Buffy and Angel would NEVER be happy together in the end. 😀

I got the impression from the Chosen commentaries that Joss really didn't like Bangel and that he only wrote David in for the fans.

We do not know exactly that Angel can no longer shanshu. If the corporate world teaches you anything it is that a contract can be broken.

What if Wolfram & Hart were to be destroyed? The contract would mostly be invalid then. Plus I'm sure the PTB have some way of getting around stuff like that, even signed with blood.

And I am Bangel all the way. Spuffy just never had that true love (in my opinion), to me Spuffy was all about lust and needing someone to comfort you. I mean honestly, would Buffy have ever even thought about being with Spike if she hasn't been ripped out of heaven and so depressed?

We know that she respected him at the end of Season 5, but in no way did I feel any potential love or relationship. Sure she kissed him when she found out that he didn't spill his beans to Glory, but I thought that was just a reward or compensation for helping her out.

And I think "I Will Remember You" shows us a lot about Bangel and that they really could have a future together.

IF there had been no curse. Yes I do agree with you in that Bangel was a much more romantic coupling...but I just based my vote strictly on the fact that because of the curse, I didn't see a Bangel future and so Spuffy it was 😀

I agree. It actually made me glad, that Joss isn't a huge Bangel fan. I don't really want Buffy to end up with anyone. She should just stay cookie dough really. Not that I don't want her to find "the right one", I'd love for her to be happy and all.. I just don't see it. It makes more sense to me that Angel and Buffy should stay "soul mates" forever and eventually Buffy will die for real and some day Angel will move on. (Maybe I'm just too "realistic".)

Im a total Bangel fan 🙂

It was nice to see how their relation ship matured over the years, and by Season3 near the end they started acting more like a married couple, they had their bickering about things but always got over it, and than Joyce just had to say something and make Angel think....jk but I felt bad for Buffy when Angel broke up with her right before prom night.

Buffy and Angel always have had that connection and even though they would be away from each other for like a year when they were together they pretty much picked up where they left off.

Spuffy just kind of started out on the wrong foot for me. First we started out with Spikes obession with Buffy which was intresting to watch. Than in Season6 I understood why Buffy slept with him and there wasnt really any love there but seeing Spike with his speeches about how she really does love him and blah blah blah kind of ruined his charecter for me.

In Season7 I found their somewhat relationship ok and I could see some feeling to it but not the whole "I want to spend my life with you" like Bangel had.

I just LUVVV me some Bangel.

And plus even if Angel doesnt shanshu anytime soon, he can always go out and find a Morha demon and become human.

Joss isn't really a fan of happy relationships. It's kind of the theme in Buffy 🙂 Either the person dies, goes evil or leaves.

I noticed that but he had a Buffy/Angel poster hanging on his wall at ME, and with all the things he says about their relationship, and he said his favorite episode is IWRY, I thought he liked them and just liked to torture them for the sake of our entertainment.

Which couple do you support? :angel3: Who should end up together Spike and Buffy or Buffy and Angel?

Okay, I didn't vote in this one, because I am a Bangel and a Spuffy shipper. What can I say- I'm the bl-aaaa-ck sheep! 😉 IMO Bangel could've used a little Spuffy-ness and vice versa. I think one relationship balanced the other out perfectly. Neither one worked because Bangel Od'ed on virtue, and Spuffy was in Hormone overdrive. But all the same I love them both. Hell- stake me three times cause I even have a soft spot for Briley.... ::love::

Yeah Spangel is just nasty. I really don't get the appeal.
I dont think that at all, Spangel so could have worked, i mean even to the end of season 5, like everyone was dying and who was left, fred, angel, gunn and spike, Fred and Gunn would've gotten together cause of their whole season 3 thing, so then that just leaves Spike and Angel and they had all tohse hints through the shows and all. You could so see it. But hey to each to their own.

I agree with you at that aswell, maybe they she needs someone with a bit from each 😉

First of all, I want to say that it was right that Buffy didn't end up with either vampire. She had her own life to live and revolving it around Spike or Angel wouldn't have helped.

Aside from that I have always been a Spuffy fan. Frankly, Buffy and Spike made a dynamic pair. It was interesting to watch two people, who first met as enemies, learn to give up their pre-conceived ideas of each other, endure so many complex problems and mature as sentient beings, together. Yes, Buffy/Spike was not as "romantic" as Buffy/Angel, but I never cared for idealized love or Gothic Romance - which Buffy/Angel clearly seemed to me. I find Idealized Love to be boring, cliched and immature. I also think that Buffy and Angel would have never made it as a couple . . . and not just because of the curse. One, Angel is a control freak who would have continued trying to inflict his will upon Buffy. And while Buffy would have tolerated it as a young girl, she would have never tolerated it as an adult. Also, Buffy is a bit of a control freak herself. But most importantly, whereas Buffy (and even Spike) had managed to develop or mature as characters, Angel never did. Their conversation in "Chosen" made it pretty clear to me.

Can't rep you Lady L, but well said and I agree 100% 😀

Because of how he acted jealous? He was was mature about it after his initial surprise. After all, he did leave when Buffy told him to go and didn't go after Spike or anything. The final season of Angel showed that he matured. He fought even when there was nothing left for him to fight for, just because it was the right thing to do. He fought side by side with his worst enemy, Spike, for the greater good. That showed maturity.

I don't know. My vote would be for Spangel. But, of course, I'm not thinking all lovey dovey hanky panky. I'm thinking...chemestry. They're awsome together. They bicker, yes, but all couples do. And they work well together. It's all chemestry.

And that's what love is supposed to be anways, isn't it? It's not all about sex.

But anyways...I'm a Spuffy for the sexcapades and mixed emotions, but a Bangel because of the old romanctic broody OH GOD IT'S SO DEPRESSING...

See Angel showed on his own show that he matured in many ways, especially as the series drew to the end. But the one thing he showed he never matured about was his feelings about Buffy. His behaviour is still the same in Season 5 (TGIQ).

When Buffy returned from her interlude with Angel in Chosen, it is clear by the conversations she has with both vampires that her relationship with Spike is the more mature.

I don't see how the relationship between Spike and Buffy was more mature. Spike acted like Angel did in TGIQ
