Official Never-Ending Spuffy Appreciating Thread

I thought it might be fun to have a thread just for us Spuffies - to post or link to and discuss our favorite fiction, videos, fan art, and articles regarding the two. The Spuffy fandom is pretty awesome. Here's the place to wave your Spuffy flag proudly!!!!

I was inspired to do this because I just found another absolutely beautiful Spuffy vid. I apologize if I already posted this...the intro is kind of strange, but the video is well worth the wait. It's quite short.

What a totally perfect chronicle of their relationship - don't you think?

The lyrics fit so well. The one lyric that really stands out for me as being so representative of their relationship is "I will never let you fall, I'll stand up for you forever, I'll be there for you through it all, even if saving you send me to heaven." The thing that is so striking about Spuffy is his utter willingness to die for her if need be. He loved her so much, she became his life, and he made his mission hers. As James said, "He'd [Spike] probably willingly die for her. He'd be okay with that."*

Anyway, enjoy this little gem, guys.

Brutti_ma_buoni comes up with a clever idea to use time as Spike and Buffy's ally in a contrast to the end of season 7 where time (or, rather, the lack of it) was their enemy. Sweet, smart and subtle story.

OOOh I wanna share something Spuffy!!

oh, I know - I just gave my sister the Box set for her birthday and she's been sending me e-mails as she watched. This is what she sent to me Yesterday on finishing season seven:

Of course she loved him, it's so obvious. He's her one great love, and she his.Angel was her first love, and that's sweet, but Spike was the real thing. So did he die or not?

she hasn't watched Angel yet 😉

I loved that. I don't tend to think of them in those terms very often - I've learnt not to get my hopes up - but I think she's right 🙂

I think so too. This reminds me of a very similar quote my mother said after finishing Season 7. I explained to her that the fandom is quite divided on if Buffy loved Spike or not, and that in fact it was a source of much discussion for us, and I was wondering what she thought. Her reply?

"Where's the discussion? There's a discussion? How? Isn't it obvious she loved him? I mean, come on. "

If someone who's only seen the show once can see that, why can't the Bangels?!

Favorite episode for Spike/Buffy from each season

Season 2 - Becoming 2
Season 3 - Lovers Walk (by default)
Season 4 - Something Blue, but I opened my eyes to them n Superstar
Season 5 - Intervention
Season 6 - After life (but I prefer the S6 dailies)
Season 7 - Showtime (they didn't need words)

What's your favorite Spuffy episode?

What I like about Spuffy is that is interesting, and sort of realistic. Also, I think their bond is very strong, because they've been through so much together. And, they are very romantic without making out or having sex, seeing as it was proved in the episode "Touched."

I think everyone is forgetting the final scene from Once More with Feeling, when Spike and Buffy kiss as the curtains fall! Amazing.

Favorite episode for Spike/Buffy from each season

Season 2 - 'School Hard', for sure. The way that Spike is stalking her in the Bronze just seethes with sexual tension. It's obvious Spike was very attracted to her from the get-go. I love how James played that up.

Season 3 - 'Lovers Walk', I agree. Ah, my Spike the voice of reason. His "evaluation" of Bangel is still, in my opinion, dead-on: 'You're not friends. You'll never be friends. You'll be in love 'til it kills you both.'

Season 4 - 'Something Blue'! This episode is simple comic genius. It sparked my hope for the possibilty of Spuffy as it became obvious that Joss was experimenting with the pairing.

Season 5 - 'Intervention.' Huge turning point for the two. For the first time Spike, pre-soul, does something for Buffy that doesn't benefit him - he allows himself to be tortured by Glory, refusing to disclose who the Key is. Buffy, discuised as the Bot, kisses him for the first time on her own terms. Beautiful little scene.

Season 6 - Gosh, tough one! I'd say 'Dead Things.' Although this is a difficult episode to get through, it gives us a clear view into Buffy's head, and shows us her fantasies, fears, and dreams. Spike's willingness to be her personal punching bag is a testament to his love for her, and the flashback where he's handcuffed is just SO HOT. 😉

Season 7 - 'Showtime.' The look on her face when she rescues him is pure love.

My favourite Spik/Buffy episodes from each season. . .

Season 2: Becoming, part 2 - I love the alliance, I love how 'in sync' they are with their lame cover story to Joyce. I love the whole thing.

Season 3: Lover's Walk - it is the one ep with the big three sharing scenes. Poor Angel - he fades into the background while Buffy and Spike completely dominate the scene with their superior screen presence.

Season 4: Something Blue - Who can resist a magical dash of Spuffy? - and it sparked so many ideas!

Season 5: Fool for Love - my favourite episode. Honorary mention for Intervention.

Season 6: After Life - I love all three Spuffy scenes. They gave me such hope! Props to he kiss at the end of OMWF too.

Season 7: Touched. Too beautiful. Agree with Joan (^) about Showtime too 🙂

Agreed so much! I think that may be one of my favorite scenes - my heart melts.
