i think some of that same "human decency" could have been extened to Buffy when she was being bashed, THREATENED and harrassed.

I did privately express that folks were totally out of line to do what they did, and here I've publicly said most folks did get what they deserved. So this is a red herring. (EDIT: In fact, if you really do sympathize with Buffy getting mistreated for no good reason, you should actually be with me on not wanting to see someone else get mistreated for no good reason. 🙂)

Absolutely not... but YC does not fall under that heading.

You keep insisting she does, and never back the accusation up. I know what they say about repeating a big enough lie often enough, but I'm going to do my damndest to see to it that doesn't happen here.

so you can PRIVATELY express (and we've only your word for that) your disapproval of her treatment but you feel it necessary to hijack this thread PUBLICLY because of your wife? if you have an issue...AGAIN as several staff in THIS VERY THREAD have said to do--- PM them about it! One minute you think you're doing some "people's champion" shit by saying "all dealings should be handled out in the open" but you cant express your disapproval for the abuse of staff and the owner (not to mention various regular members) JUST AS PUBLICLY? you cant have your cake and eat it too.

the staff have told you what happened and why and thats how its going to be. any further discussion about it should be taken to THEM via PM and even THEN they dont have to entertain you any longer than they feel inclinded to do so and you should realize that and accept it. you're not going to change what happened here and all this that youve done in this thread is not going to help either.

your membership here is not a right its a priviledge. you dont pay any bills, you dont contribute any money to the board or its license so aside from having the "basic human decency right" to be free of harrassment (which was not even afforded to Buffy, her staff or other members which AGAIN is what lead to this banning) you really dont have ANY rights to DEMAND (which is what both you and seraphim are doing) anything from the staff

Well, yes. It's not as though the wife can actually post here and defend herself, or even PM the staff. If you hadn't noticed from my past windmill-tilting, I tend to speak out not at every last little bad thing I see going on, but rather I advocate on behalf of folks who have been forcibly (and unjustly) silenced.

So if somebody runs a DDoS against Buffy's account and locks her out of the boards, I'll speak out publicly, sure.

EDIT: And if you want proof that I've repeatedly disapproved of the way Buffy was treated, ask my wife. Oh, wait. You can't, 'cause she got banned and nobody is willing to outright say why. 😛

I'm surprised enough that someone like Buffy would keep company like yours, just by the way you've been treating everyone in this thread. YC got banned in the first place because everyone was hush-hush and wouldn't give her infractions or warnings or any such thing. So no thanks, I'm not interested in continuing to sweep everything under the rug out of sight of the rest of the membership. There's no reason to keep the fact of an explanation private.



EDIT: Also, I'd like to point out that of the 3-4 staff who've posted in this thread, VisionGuy has been the only one suggesting I should take it to PM. More senior staff have given me absolutely zero indication that a PM would work better at getting answers.

Okay, this has been going on all day now. We've established that a lot of things have gone wrong in the past, that there's consequences now that might or might not be fair and that not everyone is happy with how things were handled.

It should be clear to everyone by now that this is not a democracy as such and that, unless Buffy says so, no free discussion will change anything. We have all had the chance to give our opinion on this matter, the staff is aware of the dicontent of some members, they have offered to handle matters privately. What else do people want at this point? If everyone keeps going like this, all we do is drive an even deeper rift into the Boards than there already is by now, and ensure that the bannings today weren't the last. I've seen people leave the Boards by now, not beause of they felt attacked or anything, but because of these endless discussions we're now regularly having. Can't we instead all do something for the well-being of Buffy Boards and finally leave all this negativity behind us? I'm sure none of us wants to see the Boards go down because of this.

Can't we just all vow that from now on everyone is going to treat everyone else friendly and with respect and go back to being on of the nicest places online? Please?
