I have to go down to my beach house in about a month, and I really don't have a good time down there. After my cousins and my friends go home, there's nothing to do and I'm bored. So, since I have a lot of money I can spend at the moment, I was wondering if anyone knew any good stand up comedians who have released their acts onto a CD. That would keep me occupied. I already know I want Maria Bamford's CD.
 
Check out Mitch Hedberg. He's hilarious! Also try: Larry the Cable Guy, Ron White, or Stephen Lynch. The Comedy Central site has various comics listed. *Any* one of them are woth a listen. But, check out Mitch first!
 
If you have access to a DVD player, I strongly suggest Lee Evans...he is TOO funny, you literally hurt at the end of it from all the laughing! lol!
I dont know whether your English or not, but its mostly English humour...and Americans dont get it or something...

Oh my yes, Lee Evans is hilarious. My stomach was hurting so much from laughing the last time I saw him. The man is a genius.
 
Not a big fan of stand up comedians because I dont think humour can be canned. Besides most comedians think being loud, swearing or sexual is funny and im like "yeah..... anyway". I prefer subtle comedy.

I dont mind Jack Dee, but mainly because I get the feeling he always wants to kill himself.
 
I don't think people know about him in the U.S, but Lenny Henry is very funny.

I don't like to brag, but... who am I kidding I love to brag, there is a picture with my Dad in, in the sleve of Lennys 'Have you seen this man' CD. It is the picture right in the middle with Lenny and all his mates, my Dad is the one on the right standing behind Lenny and he's wearing a really dodgy cardigan.

(sorry I had to do the 'I don't like to brag' thing😀)
 
lee evans is absolutely hilarious, and peter kay is excellent but if you don't understand the background he comes from then you might not get the jokes. Rich Hall, Chris Rock also rule

I agree with that, I love him I think he's one of the best, but my friend dosen't see what's so good about him and dosen't find him funny and I was like huh? He's on Channel4 on Wednesday at 9.30pm, woohoo!
