I'm always on the lookout for Ewan news and found this on http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire

I'm looking forward to this movie as well its Star Wars and its the last one ever.

Ewan McGregor, who plays Obi-Wan Kenobi in the upcoming last prequel film Star Wars: Episode III, told Scotland Today that the movie ties things up. "I hope, I think what it does nicely is it ties up all the ends, all the loose ends, and it meets Episode IV, with Alec Guinness and the crew, very nicely, I think," McGregor told the site.

McGregor reprises his role, which was originated by Guinness in the original Star Wars movie, in the third prequel in George Lucas' epic saga. This one sees the final transition of Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) into Darth Vader.

"I don't think there's anything left unsolved, and there's a huge but enormous fight at the end of it," McGregor added. "Enormous. I've never been more exhausted in my life. We spent weeks and weeks shooting this fight!" Episode III, which is now in post-production, is slated to debut in 2005.

OMG thank you for the news!!! I can not wait..I am such a huge fan of the original trilogy..I remember seeing them in the Drive-in theatre when they first opened in the 70s!!!

I remember watching it with my brother, we would wrap newspapers up in cellotape and pretend they were lightsabers. So much fun. It will be sad to see it come to an end!

I can't wait to get all 6 movies on DVD, in one gynormous box set!!!! Oh ya been saving for that one!
 
Hmm takes a year for post production, was gonna say thats rediculous but maybe not.

Anyway, thats cool (BTW theres that little pirate video floating around on the net. Its poor quality and a load of blue screen stuff). I heard the original trilogy is to come out on DVD at the end of this year.
 
Oh really? At the end of 04? I'm just scared because Lucas originally said (while filming episode I) that he was going to be releasing a crazy box set when Episode III was ready for home release!
 
Sounds like a great movie, I'll have to see this, not that I wasn't going to anyway!
 
Let's see: Ep 1 is the definition of a bad movie, Ep 2 was an improvement, but sucked nonetheless. I have no hopes for this.
 
Groan. Peter Jackson proved trilogies can be great. George Lucas shows us how difficult that is to accomplish.
 
Although in all fairness the original triology was good. And Star Wars is original material. We have too high expectations I think, and now people seem to think a good film is one with pretty effects so Hollywood is trying to do that.
 
You have some good points there, and I loved the original Star Wars, and the new ones really are not a patch on it, although I do like them and will watch the third one.

There has been a lot of comparisons with LOTR and Star Wars, and while they are both different movies, Peter Jackson and has team have shown the correct way to use effects to your advantage.
 
well not much in the way of new info here but nice none the less 🙂

I dont overly like Ep 1 but loved ep II. it felt star wars i dont care if the dialogue sucked and had cows shaped like testicles.

episode III i have very high hopes for if they can only take the same lead from I to II again i'll be pleased, if they can do more i'll be estatic 😀

what do you think will happen to Jar Jar (no spoilers please) i personally would like him to go to alderaan, because he isnt going to die horribly and upset the children. but the fans would know 😀

Ash Shan. once a film is finished production you have to edit the material. which often involves getting the raw footage into a cut about twice as long as the final film. then cuttng that down to about 2 hours. making sure it flows right has good pacing.

then you have to build CGI sets. which takes ages. CGI character animation often involves frame by frame animation,

then you normal sci fi effects, lightsabers etc. which at proffesional level takes half an hour for a seconds worth of footage per saber.

alot of the effects starts long before the the end of production.

often studios will hold off release for the best time to get audience in but with somthing as effects heavy as this it only gets finished about 2 weeks before release!
 
Wish Lucas would release the original trilogy on DVD. The original versions, that is. The first two movies were good. The third made me want to barbeque ewoks. LOL.
