Except that Buffy isn't a martial artist. She has no verifiable rang in any martial art, and I believe Californis requires that. Something that she COULD do, however, would be to compete in some sort of so called "mixed martial arts" matches, if there are any female divisions. Most of their techniques are just basic street fighting with a few throws and joint locks tossed in. No proof of training or qualifications necessary. Just the ability to kick ass.

Well Angel Investigations / Wolfram & Hart are businesses, Buffy and the scoobies are just heroes.

Its funny that Willow has gone all her life without a job. Even Cordelia had to get a job in S3.

Looks like Willow and Dawn are going to be the only two scoobies who get away easy.

And Willows college education isnt exactly helping her any.

Xander/Anya/Giles were the only ones who knew how to make a living for themselves.

But even Buffy relied on Joyce for everything up until her death.

Oh and did Joyce not get child-support from Hank?

Its amazing how money is one of the biggest flaws in the Buffyverse.

Logically, I think that the Watchers' Council not only should have given Buffy (and all other Slayers going back centuries) a living stipend of some kind, but they should have WANTED to. I mean, every minute Buffy spends earning a living toiling at the DMP is a minute that she isn't out patrolling, destroying vampires, combatting evil, etc... Slayers would be much more effective if they had fewer mundane responsibilities and worries to distract them.... plus, since the WC is a bunch of control freaks, having the Slayer be dependent on them for her very food and shelter would be a very effective too; for domination...

Hey guys!! Thank you so much for all the insight and ideas. I agree with those who said Buffy should have been on some kind of salary with The Council. It was only helping them and the world in the end. As for the "Higher Ups" in Sunny D paying her. WHY WOULD THEY WANT TO? Sunndy D was a metaphor for the corruption we see in our respective governments around the world. The Mayor wanted to eat the whole town and reign there. I doubt the higher ups in Sunny D really wanted Buffy there! After all she ended up destorying the whole damn place. BTW..is there a spoiler feature on this forum because I sure cannot find it!

Mayor Wilkins been dead for few years by time S6 events came, there is no indication that new mayor even knew about her existance, but i am sure he was aware of alarming state of the town so it would not been impossible.

Ironically Spiderman did get paid for saving people, world and etc. Just it was not directly, but selling photoes of his own work for newspaper. However i do not think she could have come up with similar arrangement.
