Starthrowers 'Making a Difference'

Starthrowers are making a difference, not only in the lives of Haitian youth, but also in their own lives. Gaining an understanding of complex issues like social justice, world poverty and AIDS, and realizing how they affect us all forever alters one's perception of the world.

Making a difference in Ontario

Special thanks to a few of the many Starthrowers who continue to 'make a difference':

To David Materiuk,(photo),of London, Ontario, who has twice travelled to Haiti with Sharon, and who continues to fund raise.

To Brenda Holtkamp, chaplain, and the staff and students at
Robert F. Hall High School, Caledon East, Ontario.

To Pat Materiuk, chaplain, London, Ontario, who made a return visit to Haiti in August, 2005, and to the staff and students at
John Paul II High School, London, ON.

To 12-year-olds Katie and Kristin, for fundraising in Ontario.

Making a difference from Australia

Special thanks to Teena Hughes, at BuildAWebsiteTonight, for her generous and on-going gift of many hours of her time, and technical support in setting up and maintaining the Starthrower Foundation web site.

Though it's been many years since Teena travelled to Haiti, that one visit made a profound and lasting impression.

If you would like to learn more about world poverty issues, Haiti culture and social justice issues . . .

Starthrower recommends reading the books listed on this page. (USA books on this page.)

Please help these people. This is a legitimate charity, and everything goes to help the poor children of Haiti who have been ignored by the rest of the world. If you can afford to own a computer, you can afford to help these children. Most of these kids will never have lives as good as you, but you can at least help to make sure they don't die needlessly, that they receive education and that one day THEIR children can have lives as good as yours.
