I've been working out lately, all I do is run, sit ups, and push ups and i'm looking for some other things to do. For those of you who work out, is there something specific that you do that you think really works and keeps you in shape? What do you do in your normal routine?

Switch up your routine about every 3 weeks, so your muscles don't get into a habit, cause then it just trains them to do those exact exercises. And for a daily basis you should do different types of exercises each day that typically focus on the same area. I think I said that right...

Thanks grrarrg. See i'm trying to get back into shape cause i'm lazy lol and i'm in the process of training to race motocross and i've noticed out on the track that i'm tiring out and I know I shouldn't be. So I don't want to be out in the middle of a race and tire out. I don't race yet so I still have the time to get back into shape. I never used to be this set on working out but I really want to race so I know I have to get back into shape. So any ideas that some might have I'd really appreciate it if you let me know 🙂

Im to skinny and I dont work out so... I get into shape by... eating. My genes are mean to me..

I've been out of routine for a while now, but I need to get back into it. Normally I would be in the swimming pool at around 7.30 am 8am with my mum, we always try and do something together. As well as swimming I do Yoga, Pilates (can never spell it though) and use one of those gym balls. I also have a gravity walker, which is sort of like you are sking, working your legs, arms bum and tum. I do that one watching TV. I loved Tae Kwon Do but have to give up as every time I banged my head i'd take an epileptic fit.

Don't really have a routine. I cycle 32 km per day to get from home to school and back, which keeps me into shape. I really should find some exercises for the muscles (in my case elastics) on my arms, torso and tummy.

I take classes through work, after work. It's great because I do it with a co-worker, and we make each other go!

Monday: Calorie Burner (cardio)
Tuesday: Muscle Pump
Thursday: Cardio and Weights
Saturday: Pilates and Posture Perfect
Sunday: Yoga Stretch

I stick to this routine and it conditions and tones my body, I love it.

i just barely eat i only eat like 1 meal a day and im fit-im not sayin you should starve yourself though and im in track so thats another reason

if your working your abs and chest crunches is good, put a ball between your legs and go up and down about 25 times, that works out your lower abs...

Won't anyone help this poor dutchman by telling me what all those terms mean? Crunches? Pilates? Gravity walker?

Crunches are sit-ups but not quite.....Pilates is a form of Yoga and a gravity walker basically mimicks a cross country sking motion.....

If you want to help your endurance strength, for motocross or whatever, when you lift weights, you should lift with big reps and don't give yourself too long of a rest in between sets. You should still feel tired when you start your next set. Your muscles feel fatigued but the longer you do it, the better it gets. 🙂

well i'm lazy to, so all this advice is really helpful for me too. I have a pilates tape that i do sometimes

I play hockey so I train differently than most peoples. But I know a lots about fitness and such.

Weight training can be beneficial for both sexes and for any fitness level - it can serve as the "core" of your routine. You don't have to do any psycho body building stuff.

Cardio is good as well. 3 times a week would be about right, 30 mins a session, at a moderate pace.

Walking is a great way to get started if you want to start a fitness program. It's not that taxing on your joints, it's fun, and each mile you walk burns 100 calories (not bad!). So if you walk for a half hour you burn about 200 calories.

Anyway, anyone who wants more info or specifics, just PM me!

I run 5 miles twice a week, walk three miles once a week, take a lifetime sports class in school, and weight train twice a week. That's my rutine for this season.
