Steve Rankin (Tara's dad) and John Mahon (Kate's Dad on Angel) in L.A. Confidential

Steve Rankin, who plays Tara's dad in the season 5 episode Family, has a small role in the crime movie L.A. Confidential (1997, starring Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce and Kevin Spacey) as the cop who arrests gangster boss Mickey Cohen. He also plays a cop in the video game L.A. Noire which is partly based on L.A. Confidential.
L.A. Confidential is one of my favorite movies, so I just felt like mentioning it 😛 Every time I see him in the movie I think, "Hey, there's Mr. Maclay!"

And while we're at it, John Mahon who plays Kate Lockley's father on Angel is also in the movie as the Police Chief:

That's so funny. Steve Rankin is one of those actors that I feel like I see everywhere (and he's always very good) but it had completely slipped my mind that he was Tara's dad on Buffy... probably where from I recognize him from the start.
