Still kind of new at this...

Hey everyone, I am fairly new to the Buffy Boards. Although I am not new to the Buffyverse. I have been an avid fan since Episode 6 of Season 1 (The Pack) I watched Seasons 1 through 5 faithfully on the WB. After Season 5 when the switch was made to UPN, I lost my favorite TV show. My town did not carry UPN. After the 2nd episode in Season 6 I started watching Tuesday night's new episode at 1 or 2am on Saturday nights. Luckily with Season 7, I was able to watch that week's new episode on Sunday nights at 9. I was 13 when I started watching this show, to say I was emotionally invested in these people is an understatement. I was only a few years younger.

As an adult now, I look back on this show (and now FINALLY seriously getting into the series Angel and Firefly) and it amazes me the work that Joss and his family of writers, directors, producers, actors, etc. have produced. Everytime I re-watch the Buffy series, it becomes deeper, meatier (if you will). This fall semester I am taking a course titled "Film Topics: Heroes and Villains" I know it's primarily about movies, but I am going to make damn sure I am able to write at LEAST one paper on Buffy in some way! I'm pretty sure the only reason I signed up for the course is so I could finally write a paper on Buffy. I can't wait to continue to spread the word of Joss! My super macho Uncle just recently got into Angel and I couldn't be happier!

I am not sure if this is exactly what anyone is looking for as an introduction, but it seemed like a good start.

Can't wait to get to know some of you and your thoughts on all things in he Whedonverse! xoxo.

I completely get what you mean about Buffy getting deeper every time you re-watch it, I think every time I watch it I see it in a slightly different perspective, especially since coming on here and hearing other interpretations.

Anywho I hope you like it here 🙂

It's quite weird, cause all of my friends here where I live that are Buffy fans all came late in the game as well. I've ALWAYS been a loner when it comes to the Buffy thing. I was a fan of the movie when it came out (I was 6 or 7) so I just started watching the show when it started airing, and it was something so new and different. I just fell in love. And continue falling in love everyday. lol.

Have you seen all of Angel? I just finished it and absolutely loved it. And I loved that it was so different than Buffy.

yes actually I took a recent break from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to watch Angel. I had only been super familiar with Seasons 1 and 2 of Angel. I pretty much watched the entire series. But my Uncle has had discs 1 AND 6 of Angel Season 5. So... I am waiting to watch the Final Battle in Angel :-( lol.

And yes, it's so different. It's kind of weird, to watch a show with characters from Buffy... to see how they flip personalities. I love what they did with Wesley, the bad boys just do it for me. Once he loses the glasses, and his clumsy nerdy attitude... YUM-MEEE!!! lol.

The final disc of Angel is soooooo amazing!!! As much as I love the Buffy-Boards, I would highly recommend you stay away until you watch that disc.

I think the last 3 episodes are Angel are among the greatest Whedon episodes. And a few things happen that I am so I glad I didn't know. I won't go any further, but please, please stay away from the boards. You might go into a Season 1 Buffy thread and find out something that Angel does in the finale. That would really ruin it. 🙁
