Storyline idea

What does people think of this? Someone, like her brother or sister or a friendor boyfriend dies, and they ask for her help and she has to make sure they don't die, but have there be a twist. I can't think of a good twist right now. I know Tru's boss was shot and stuff, and that was a good ep, but they should have one of her siblings or her friend to be in the morque-cold. Anyways, that was just an idea, any opinions?

Seems like this is going to happen next ep, they showed the promos for it and her sister is going to be one of the targets. Although, this show can be interesting sometimes, I don't think it will last for a season 2. Its storyline can only do so much, and repeating the day over and over is like Groundhog's Day gone wild. (If you haven't seen that movie its about a guy that has to do a day over and over again until he does something right)

A good twist to that storyline. Hmmm, okay in theory lets say that Lindsay and Merideth both die the same day.

Tru learns of Lindsays death first and is very distressed, while on her way to the morgue she misses harrisons call. Tru gets to work and runs to the room where lindsay lies cold-ignoring her collegues warning not to go in there-she rushes past and finds merideth lying on autopsy table. Tru falls to her knees while both women ask for help as the day resets itself.

Typical day in the life of tru davies right? Wrong, now comes into effect the fact she has to choose who lives or dies. This may just be the hardest day of her life, you can't always save the ones you love.

I know cheesy plotline right, but you said a twist-thats a twist. 😉

Well, Truheart, that's a very awseome twist to the story! YOu should write for the show! Chelsea, doesn't seem to enjoy the show at all, and what a pesstamic, I really hope it does last till the secound season, and Im sure they'll come up with better storyline ideas, and I myself happened to like the ghog day twist! I liked the TRU spin on it, and I can think of a zillion other things they can think of! Anyways, alot of other shows have done the GHDay spin , like Xena for example. anyways, that's all!

I also enjoyed the last episode, one of the best thus far. Well in my opinion at least. The longest day even though a rip of groundhog day ,Tru Calling-like you had mentioned- was not the first show to do this and I am sure it won't be the last. Even though similiar to the movie the plot was very different from the film as far as I can remember(I have'nt seen that movie since I was like uhmm, 13).

Anyways, I think episodes like the longest day and movies like gorundhog day follow a plotline that can be repeated many a time. Every writer has their own style, their own twist so to speak, with which they add difference to such a plot or idea. If you can take somthing thats been used several times reinvent that 'creative theory' once again, and still catch an audiences attention- simply said that takes talent.

I can't blame chelsea for having her conerns though. There were a few occasions where I became worried there was'nt much else they could do with the show. Then I thought after seeing last episode, these writers know what the HE-double hockeysticks they are doing, or else they would'nt be using all these good plotlines up right off the bat. 😉
