Storylines or episodes you wish were done/explored.

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, I'm new and didn't know where to put this thread.

Hi everyone I'm new *waves*.

Anyway there are a few storylines that I wish were continued or explored for that matter.

1. A slayer that becomes a vampire. Why hasn't this ever been done? It's always kinda bugged me. And personally I think it would have been interesting to see Kendra as a vamp.

2. Giles/Olivia-Giles/Joyce-Giles/Anya. I would have been behind any of these relationships. Why was he made to be single for all those years. Like hello! Am I supposed to belief that a smart, kind, attractive, witty, old gentleman is supposed to be single for 7 years?

3. Dawns story. They could have done so much with her. But they made Buffy charactor jump all over her with the overprotection. She instead of doing magic and slaying which is what she wanted they made her steal instead. Come on. I would have liked to see her use magic to create several selves all doing different things. One at school. One stealing. One annoying Anya. One slaying. Ya know a funny episode.

Thats all I can think of off hand.

Yeah I agree with you on the first one, a slayer turning into a vampire would of been really interesting! They didn't have a lot of slayers to do that with but Kendra could have been. I would have liked to see that, and then Buffy had to stake her.

I agree about Giles. I wanted him and Jenny to last longer they were so sweet together. He should have gotten a long lasting relationship he's hot for an older guy 😛 My mom is totally in love with him.

hmm storylines I wish they'd continued...

1. Tara - I would have really liked to learn more about her outside of Willow we get a small glimpse in Family as to what she grew up with but I felt like there was so much potential to learn about her past and more about her as a person. I really wished they had explored that more.

2. I think they kind of wasted Faith in season 7 they didn't give her any real storyline she was mostly just background and there as a tool for Buffy's storyline. If they weren't going to use her then let her stay and kick ass on Angel.

Xander (and Anya, by extension) never got nearly as much character development as the others. He just sorta fell by the wayside at some point. Faith's relationship with Robin over the course of like 4 episodes got more attention than Xander and Anya received in the entirety of season 7.

I agree with everything else mentioned so far.

Oh, and there should've been a spell or something that would make Spike and Xander attracted to each other.

I just REALLY wish they'd explored Normal Again a bit more.... or explained it... Maybe not in cannon but I've heard many different theories and their are several inconsistencies within the episode... Some times the psychiatrist says stuff that's true to schizophrenia, and other time he does not... It's just always confused me.

and I REALLY wish they'd explored the Halfrek/Cecily thing. I mean they acknowledged it in Older and Far Away when Hallie says "William?" when she sees Spike and he says "You?" and then they both act embarrassed when asked if they know each other... but if I was Spike, and I recognized her as Cecily, I'd have punched her square in the jaw.

Also, Faith in season 7 had the potential to become a character I enjoy, but they kind of tossed her aside.. which was kind of OK because they spent all that time talking about Spike and Buffy... so...

Yes, I would have loved to learned more about Tara outside of Willow. I also loved Tara and Buffy's friendship, I would have liked to see the two of them more outside of their Spike talks. Tara had great friend qualities and I wish we would have been able to watch her friendships with the scoobies grow.

YES! I always wondered about that! I so would have LOVED to find out what that was all about. 😛



I would have liked to see Faith's character explored more. There was so much about her we didn't know.

yes, interesting ... when Buffy tasted Dracula's blood it kind of jump started her Slayer nature so it could have been a psychological conundrum for Kendra (or another slayer).

I agree. I would have liked 1 or 2 more flashbacks that explored spike and angels relationship as evil vampires, and even if we didn't actually see anything happen between them I would have liked to see the lead up. There was always so much sexual energy between them that it would have been very interesting.

Taking it a step further I would have liked to see their relationship develop in season 5. They had so much in common by this stage that I feel it would have been believable for angel to give in to his deap down feelings towards spike.

I think it was believable enough that Giles was single for the majority of the 7 years on the show. Meeting older, single women would be hard enough, but finding someone that understands his lifestyle would be even harder. Olivia could have worked if he wasn't involved with the supernatural world. I don't think Joyce and Giles had much in common besides Buffy. Very different people. Jenny and Giles were perfect together, but we all know how that ended.

I'm not sure about the slayer as a vampire thing, i think it would actually end up a bit predictable and boring.

I definitely would have been behind more Tara centric episodes. It would have been awesome to see her help Dawn more in Season 6 and see the two of them fight a one shot bad together while Buffy is with Spike and Willow at her crackmagic house. I would have liked to see Tara talk to Dawn about her childhood and for Dawn to realise just how bloody lucky she is to have at least one family member that loves her more then anything and will always go into battle (literally) for her.

Though it may not have needed to be a whole storyline, Buffy's reaction to Connor...maybe even a Dawn/Connor relationship (though I might be alone on that one...just to make Connor more likeable...though I thought he was great in season 5)!!

I would have also liked to see Faith pre-Sunnydale (much like Go Ask Malice)!

I'd have liked to see:

1) Xander getting pissed at Cassie's father in Help and assuming he abused her because he's an alcoholic like Xander's father. You know, some Xander angst.

2) Xander and Spike interacting while Spike was living in his apartment. Xander's attitude toward Spike changed a great deal after that, but we were never shown how, I'd love to see how Spike staying with Xander helped making Xander more mellow about him.

3) Spike and Dawn having another scene. Their last scene was Dawn threatening to burn Spike in his sleep, which is so sad considering their friendship in the previous seasons.

4) Xander/Faith scene. It sucks that Xander is the only one who hadn't shared a scene with Faith where characters who never even talked to her before did, like Kennedy.

5) A scene in Touched that shows Xander, Willow, Dawn and Giles worried about Buffy and wondering if she was okay.

6) Buffy and her friends talking about what happened in Empty Places.

Most definitely a followup to "As You Were," or at least some sort of explanation as to why the subject of Spike's supposed terrorist activities was simply dropped as soon as the final credits were run. If he were actually guilty, there should have been more dire consequences than simply, "Goodbye...William." The potential customers, if they existed at all, wouldn't have been likely to accept, "Sorry, but the Slayer scrambled your eggs before I could deliver 'em. Better luck next time." If Spike were, in fact, either, as he said, "holding them for a friend," then said friend should have been caught before they did something like that again. If he was set up by someone who hated him and hated the idea of him being with Buffy, Riley, for instance, then he should have been given the chance to prove it.

EvilBuffy agrees: Agree with the Cecily thing. I remember reading a fanfic once where Halfrek was Cecily but she was a vengence demon posing to grant a wish for someone. Hence she turned William down because she was working. I pretend that actually happened lol.

I read something like that too... I used to pretend it happened... but then I got MORE upset that Spike didn't punch her in Older and Far Away because even though he didn't know it, if that happened, his entire existence as a vampire would have been built from a lie.

1. More about everyone's families. Giles's grandmother and father are mentioned like once and that's it. We see Willow's mother once and only hear about her father. Xander's family is shown a bit more but still has the depth of something really shallow. Tara's family is a tired cliché and her demon story makes no sense whatsoever. Even with Buffy, the sudden turn that Hank made from a neglectful but overall loving to a total jerk who didn't even show up for Joyce's funeral could have been explored more. Would have been nice to see Tara meeting the Rosenbergs.

2. More Jenny, more Ethan, more Tara.

3. More Willow in UC Sunnydale. We don't even get to know her major. More about Xander and his job. How does he combine his job with the Scooby gig? This comes up like once and it's because Buffy works for the same crew.

4. Exploration of Xander's reaction to Willow/Tara. "Girls kissing=hot" is a bit generic, you know. 🙂

5. More crossovers with "Angel" or at least reactions to what happens in LA. Just imagine scenarios like Angel and Lorne visiting Sunnydale in time for the musical. 🙂

I also love the Lorne and Sweet idea. In another thread ages ago I mentioned that an idea I would like to see would be Sweet going to LA once he vanished from Sunnydale and having a sing off with Lorne that eventually destroys him.

Why not? Spike has some plot immunity. The Council doesn't want to kill him. The demon community doesn't want to kill him. He kidnaps Buffy and still not staked. As annoying and implausible as the "As You Were" development was it was merely a continuation of the trend.

Neither the demon community nor the Watchers' Council had any involvement whatsoever on what happened on "As You Were." The Suvolte eggs were supposed to be delivered to terrorists, by what we can assume were human arms dealers. The arms dealers contracted with the mysterious Doctor to deliver the eggs to them. Going back on a deal like that would be make the potential customers angry, the dealer embarrassed, and the Doctor very dead, or at least a concerted attempt on his life would have been very quickly forthcoming. Arms dealers can't afford to disappoint their customers, and they can't afford to let suppliers who fail to deliver the goods live to fail another day. It's just plain bad for business.

And even assuming that the arms dealers didn't send a wet team in to settle affairs with the Doctor, the Initiative most certainly would have, regardless of what unauthorized agreements that Riley might have made with Buffy.

I personally believe that Spike was set up, and furthermore I believe that Riley was responsible for it, but whether or not that is so really isn't why I think that "As You Were" stopped short of telling the entire story. I just think that there were too many things in the episode dependent on supposed coincidence and there should have been some very serious repercussions to the Doctor for not upholding his end of the deal. If the shark guy wanted to have Spike staked over a few Siamese kittens, there should have been an army after him, if he really were the Doctor, for losing the Suvolte eggs.

That's great...not that I ever said anything to contradict it, mind you. 🙂 The entire Initiative arc and its aftermath is full of aborted plotlines and things that make precious little sense. Buffy breaks into the Initiative compound, not once, not twice but three times and she doesn't have to face secret trials or assassination teams or any consequences at all. The government just decides to leave Sunnydale on its own and sends its demon hunters to remote parts of the world instead. Buffy never really considers calling for their help, unless it's something medical like Riley's heart condition or Spike's chip. And so on and so forth. So "As You Were" is just one more case of sloppy storytelling.

And why would Riley do that? If he is so inclined he can simply stake Spike. There is absolutely no need for such a complicated plot just to frame Spike.
