Storyteller--what did you think of Andrew?

Storyteller was great. Jane Espenson wrote one of the best episodes of the series. We got a great balance of quirky Andrew humor along with some very emotional stuff. Seeing how the episode begins to how it ends, you would have never guessed it was the same episode.
 
The episode is great! SO funny and meaningful

Storyteller is great. Tom Lenk is so funny as Andrew and all the little jokes make me laugh every time. I love the scene in the kitchen, and the one where he's filming Spike in the basement. ( Spike: I thought I told you to piss off with this bloody camera, yet here you are again with that thing in my face. Would you sod off before I rip your throat out and eat y...
Andrew: Uh, Spike? The light was kind of behind you.
Spike: Oh, right. Uh... What, is this better, then? - I thought I told you to piss off with that bloody camera; here you are again with that thing in my face. Would you sod off -? )
And of course Andrew's tale of what was going on in Mexico. Aah, this episode is pure comedy gold. The ending, with Andrew finally(?) showing remorse for what he's done makes that it, despite all the giddyness, still is a powerful, good episode.

I might want to watch it again any time soon ^^

I loved Story teller...i love how Tom Lenk plays Andrew...and Andrew is so well written. I think my favourite bit is when he makes it out that him and Dark Willow had the fight in season 6 and that he was so much more powerful and superior...lol!! I also like when he zooms in on Willow and Kennedy and says "Here's something you might be interested in gentle viewers" and then goes past them and admires Xanders window lol!!
 
I have always LOVED this episode. All of the things with Buffy and Anya at the beginning are exactly how I see Andrew looking at the on a daily basis. And I love all the side comments "...there's always been a kind of heat between them. although technically , as a vampire, he's room temperature." I also agree with everyone about how he idolizes Xander. Especially because this WAS Xander in season one and two.
 
This was a good episode, very well written and well acted. I liked Andrew's character in general and it was good that he was being funny in the beginning of the episode, but I really thought his character improved when he finally took responsibility for his actions at the end of this episode. Until that point, he had been treating everything that he had done and what was going on as a big joke.

When Buffy made it seem as it she would kill him, he finally began to understand everything that was happening.
 
i just re-watched this episode a little while ago. the funny parts were even funnier than i remembered and it's really a brilliant episode in terms of deepening andrew, moving the story along, and commenting on what the writers and everyone are actually doing--telling stories. i loved the whole buffy speech about how "life isn't a story."

also, i loved the scene where principal wood and buffy are in the basement next to the seal right after principal wood was possessed by it, and the pig that andrew was supposed to kill runs by them and they both watch it and then principal wood says, "god, i hope that's not a student." hahaha

I always wondered if that pig was a descendent of the one the hyenas killed in the first season episode, "The Pack." That would be kind of funny.
I liked Storyteller. Andrew, in general, gets on my nerves b/c he's too whiny, but you can't deny this was a funny episode; very well-written and acted. 🙂 But, because it features so much Andrew, I didn't LOVE it.
 
I thought this episode was amazing. There wasn't anything I didn't like about it. It's when I stopped thinking Andrew was a complete idiot. lol.

Funny, I actually just watched that episode last night, and I forgot how much I loved it. I'm re-watching S7 right now, and I'm thinking I might be re-adjusting my ideas about it. It's always been my opinion that 7 has been my least favorite season - but then I thought about it for a while and really, the only aspects of it I dislike are the Potentials and Kennedy. I love the mini Wood/Spike arc, the focus on Spike's past, the First Evil, and the emphasis on Buffy and Spike's evolving friendship. I love the theme of girl power and creating an army of Slayers.

Sure, I agree that they tried to cram way too much story in one season, but hey, give them a break. There was obviously quite a bit that the writers wanted to explore before the show ended. Some of my favorite episodes are in this season; "Lies my parents told me, "Selfless", "Him", Conversations with Dead people", and "Dirty Girls". So yeah. I'm appreciating the season more and more was I watch it yet again.

i've been re-watching certain episodes of season seven recently, as well, and i agree with you--it definitely bears re-watching and re-thinking. although i don't love kennedy, i love willow's arc and i love spike's arc, and season seven has some really brilliant episodes like "storyteller," "conversations with dead people," "selfless," and "lies my parents told me." also, "him" never fails to make me laugh. i'm a big spuffy shipper too, so i love their arc as well.
 
This episode is classic. I love when Andrew takes a drag from the pipe and starts to cough. He's trying to look so gentlemenly it's hysterical.
 
He's so cute. I like how they made this episode in his camera point of view. I actually cried at the end when Andrew was afraid to die and said sorry for everything he did. And he Spike's "Sod off!" is gorgeous!

I loved this episode! The way he was saying Anya's lines while watching the Anya/Xander conversation was just so great. I know they never said, but I'm pretty sure Andrew was gay. I love it! A lesbian and a gay man, can't beat that!

When he first showed up as a member of the trio, I thought he was kinda of annoying, but as the season continued he grew on me. I loved him by the end of the series. His little drawings made me laugh ever time. Yeah, Andrew rocked.
