Streamys 2009

Well, ladies and gentlemen, the 2009 Streamy Awards have just come to a close!

Alas, "The Legend of Neil" won no awards, but production quality has gone up a bit for S2, and I'm looking forward to seeing them win things next year. 😉 (Also, because I am a geek and have an ego, if you were watching, when Tony (Neil/Link) and Sandeep were talking and Tony was in costume, that was his new costume from S2 which *I* made 😉 😉 😉)

Anyway! The good news: Jossverse things won, Joss Whedon himself was there, as was Maurissa and Felicia and NPH. 😀 (No Nathan, unfortunately)

Results that are Worth Mentioning:

-Best Comedy Web Series - Felicia Day's "The Guild"

-Best Male Actor in a Comedy Web Series - Neil Patrick Harris in "Dr. Horrible"

-Best Female Actor in a Comedy Web Series - Felicia Day in "The Guild"

-Best Ensemble Cast in a Web Series - "The Guild"

-Best Directing for a Comedy Web Series - Joss Whedon for "Dr. Horrible"

-Best Writing for a Comedy Web Series - Maurissa Tancharoen, Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Zack Whedon for "Dr. Horrible"

-Audience Choice Award - "Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog"

The Craft Awards were done on Wednesday, and I'm afraid I don't know those results. Anyway... this year's edition of the Felicia Day Awards went pretty well, despite technical glitches. Now they've had a year to practice, so I expect 2010 be much better. 😉

And next year, I'm actually buying tickets when they first go on sale!! 😉

Yay for Felicia and Dr. Horible! Honestly, I think Dr. Horrible didn't win Best Series because they would have felt bad giving all the awards to a "professionally" made series. Not that there aren't professionals in The Guild but you know what I mean!

ooh, nicey for Whedon and co! And also for Felicia Day, but I haven't seen the Guild, so I wouldn't know how justly she deserved it.

Anyway, Lurkie, my thoughts are sorta similar, but not quite... I think some of it was that they saw that Dr. Horrible was winning Audience Choice, and so they decided not to give Dr. Horrible Best Comedy Web Series as well.
