Stunt Work In 'Chosen'

According to an on set article, by a ubervamp actor, there were only two people who did have stuntdoubles.The actresses who played Kennedy, and Shannon.I think that's cool.But it gets me upset, knowing that 99% of the cast, didn't do their own stunts for the last episode.
 
if only two people had stunt doubles, that would suggest that the vast majority did their own stunts. Though I'm reseaonably sure that Gellar didn't perform Buffy's schoolbus landing.
 
Don't get me started on the stunt work.

I know Sarah's expensive, but she has a background in martial arts. It would have been so much better to have seen her done some of the work, I mean nothing was really that bad. Plus its so obvious when stunt doubles are used.

The reason why Kennedy didn't have one is because she didn't fight as well, skillful as the others. I mean she fought good, but people like Vi and Chao Ahn(sp?) fought very gracefully and skilled. I really didn't see Shannon anywhere.

Speaking of stunts and fake fighting, did you see how softly Buffy kicked the first ubervamp she encountered in the episode. It was totally off.
 
Well, some of the actors pushed to do more stunts but the people in charge of the show didn't want to put important characters at a level where any injury would be a high risk. It would have effected not only the people but the show's quality as well. So in a way it's good actor swere held off. Also, I heard Sarah had often had bruises and was really worn out from doing many of the Buffy fight scenes.
 
Its not about whether it looks good or whatever, its about whether its dangerous for the actor to perform the stunt...

I mean, I read that Iyari (Kennedy) got punched in the face numerous times because she wanted to do her own stunts, so they had to stop it for a while (her doing most of the stunts)

I say bravo to them anyway, the stunt doubles really WERENT noticable as they were in previous episodes

I always thought it was part of the show's charm when it was obvious others were doing stunt work...... like in Graduation Day-1 the fight between Faith and Buffy used doubles but that didn't take away from the action in any way whatsovever. It's all part of the fun that was Buffy.
 
Yeah, I totally agree that the stunt doubles in the massive fight scenes are part of the shows charm. Another really noticable scene was when Buffy was fighting the First Slayer in Restless. Yea, that was Sarah rolling down that hill. :winking15

I mean, c'mon now. That was just sad. Sad and lame.

Or, y'know, the sword fight in 'Becoming Part Two'. Or fighting in Hell in 'Anne'. Or just about any other time stunts were used.

Sarah's always really lame about stunts. To me, anyway. I mean, damnit, doesn't she have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do or something like that? At least kick like you mean it.

As far as 'Chosen' goes, I really wasn't paying that much attention to the stunts. I was too busy 'ooh'-ing and 'aah'-ing and loving the episode to bitty little pieces. Sigh. Tear.
 
The problem is if Sarah did her own stunts and say broke her leg then they'd need a stunt double for Buffy standing, yet alone fighting. The cast are apparently quite gung-ho about fighting but the crew aren't.
 
I'm agreeing with taking stunts into mind depending on whether or not they would hurt the actors/actresses.

I think that it is obvious when ALL the cast members have stunts. They all have, and you can probably even pinpoint them in episodes. And they all look bad, you can really tell.

But, who cares? They need the cast to act, and they can't act if they are in a full body cast.
