What is it with Vampires and killing all humanity/making an apocolypse? If all the humans die who do they feed off of? Won't all vampires eventually go nonblood crazy? Seems like vamps really lack big picture thinking!

that has ALWAYS annoyed me!
I know. If i was a vamp id just have Spikes ''happy meals on legs'' attitude.

same here, i was totally with spike on the angelus thing.... sure he'd go down in history of hell as being the dumbass who sent the world to hell, but aint vamps kinda hated everywhere so they should just stick here and be bloody thankful for it.

Stupid evil doers! I mean, I was always fine with the concept when it was by fancy demons that didn't eat humans, but the vamps that wanted to end/kill/destroy all humanity/humans were just dumb.
I liked when Spike decided he needed the 'happy meals with legs' to be around to eat, at least he was smart about the whole thing.

Why do Vamps always want to kill off humanity ?

Well, it's so that they can rule the world of course... as for the fast food on legs shortage.. has nobody ever heard of synthesized blood? I mean why use the real thing when animals are available -- nobody ever said that when the Apocalypse comes they're going to slaughter the animals now did they? And I'm sure if they need to before all the animals run out the Vamps could find a way of making their own synthetic blood.

The vast majority of vampires obviously have no more thought of eventually losing all of those happy meals on legs than the average human has of losing their own natural food sources. The food has always been there, therefore it always will be. A few forward thinkers do exist in both races, though.Humans have conservationists, and vampires have those like the Master in the Wishverse, who planned ahead by capturing humans and draining them with blood draining device or the vampires in "Blade III" whi used captured humans as a permanent blood source the way that the aliens used them as an energy source in the "Matrix" series.

On the same note, why, or even how, is a single vampire able to drain enough blood from a full grown human to kill him or her? If Spike or Angel were able to live on just a few cups of animal blood a day, why does it take several quarts of human blood for a vampire "in the wild" to live? They should be able to just grab some convenient passerby, drain a pint or so, and send them on their way. Even if they needed more than that, why not just bite several people? Conservationist vampires would do something like that.

Well, in Acathala's case, Angelus was just going to have the beastie suck the world into another nasty dimension. Armegedon I don't think would be the end of humanity, just humanity as we know it. Eternal night, an unequal monster to human ratio, an overall lack of goodness. Humans would still be around but culture as we know it would be toast.

Thats also what Spike was refering to...aside from the happymeals with legs he also liked I think a soccer team and other worldly things of the human nature.

Could be wrong on this, but i don't think they wanted to end the world, just the world as we know it.

Ioronic, isn't it, that he managed to do almost exactly that in "After The Fall." Well, he finally got it. I hope he's happy with it.
^ I agree. I kind of understand many of the apocalypses as ending THIS world, shoving everyone into hell...vampires could go too, they're demons, and they could feed off of/torture/maim/kill people to their heart's content, in a demon dimension. It would actually be a better existence for vampires. No Slayer, nobody fighting back, plenty of doom and destruction and death to keep them happy.

Though some things, like the Judge, don't make any sense. Unless as someone said, the vamps would just feed off animals or something.

yeah but as heard a hundred times in the series animal blood tastes terrible

I've always wondered, though, if there weren't occasions when any vampire would have to feed on animal blood. Without the special tempered glass W & H used, air travel was pretty much out of the question, and travel by sea would take so long that they would have to feed occasionally or starve. Rats, livestock cargo, or the odd ship's mascot would have to do, regardless of the taste.

Yep, totally agree. Angelus' sadism is pathological. He needed to torture Buffy in th worst way without any regard to utilitarian elements.

Interestingly Angelus' didn't naturally have apocalyptic tendencies. When the Master wanted lay waste the world, Angelus disagreed with his credo, actually quite liking the world. I think the determining factor was Buffy: he needed to clensed, free of the humanity that plagued him, even if it meant his own death. The goal of tormenting her transcended all his other earthly desires.

Spike seemed a bit 'meh' either way. I definitely think the Judge was Dru's idea and I think he was going along with it to please her. This said, he couldn't have been that bothered about the world judging by the shrugging of his shoulders when Angelus was about to kill Buffy, (which of course would have meant the end of the world as we know it), the main motivating factor in both apocalypses was Drusilla.

As for the Master I think he wanted a world like the one we see in the Wish, where the humans are running scared and vampires are in control. The world belongs the humans and demons and vamps alike aren't really happy about that. This most likely why, entities like W&H are working hard to corrupt mankind and gain influence where they can.
