Susan McLeary creates – or should that be cultivates – jewellery that grows while you wear it.

The Michigan-based florist elegantly weaves succulents into necklaces, rings, bracelets, and even earrings. Each piece can be worn for two to four weeks, until the plants finally grow off. You can then transfer them into a planter and keep using the jewellery base.

It’s a win-win: the plant finds a suitable home, the owner gets an accessory that evolves.

‘The flowers and foliage must be interesting and beautiful on their own for me to feel charged while arranging them’, McLeary said in an interview. ‘If I’m excited by the collection of elements in front of me, the arranging doesn’t feel like work – it feels like a choreographed dance – each element taking its perfect place and supporting its partners’.

I have to say, I actually love those, but they don't seem practical lol
Oh snap! You can wear them for 2-3 weeks and then snap them off the jewelry and plant them.

"Gorgeous, dangly earrings made with real live succulents and brass jewelry bases. Wear and enjoy for 2-3 weeks, then gently remove the plants from the backing, and plant. Perfect for a wedding, party, or any occasion where you want to stand out. Certainly a conversation starter! Return the empty bases to me for a refill at any time."

They look totally gorgeous. Not something I'd wear everyday but maybe the sort of thing you'd see a bride wearing.

Edit: whoops, just seen your post above.

I was expecting a Haribo ring. Mmmmm succulent!

They're cute though.

One for Buffy.

Lol, Athena, I always felt so fancy when I had one of these beasts as a kid.

To be honest, my jewellery tastes (oh, lawl) haven't changed much since then! Big big BIG!
If the person wore a garland of succulents worked in a flower shop, it would seem to be apt, but not practical.
I wonder what a hat of a flower pot with succulents in would look like.

@GwenRaiden "Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got. I'm still, I'm still Gwenny from the block"? 😛
