You know that's actually true with me, my tastes do sort of change in the summer. Great question!
In the winter I listen to more heartfelt lyrics and ballads as far as music goes. It wouldn't be a wierd thing for my playlist to consist of "I Will Always Love You" (Huston) , "Bring Me to Life" (Evanescence) and "Travelling Soldier" (Dixie Chicks) and the lyrics would somehow end up inspiring a short story or banner. Movie-wise I tend to stick to light-hearted romantic comedies or comedies like "Hancock" or "Knocked up": stuff with a laughtrack or punchline to tell me when to think, you know? 😉
But when the summer roles around, anything that's a real "thinker" and face-pased sort of movie goes. Angels and Demons, Disturbia, Inside Man and the Illusionist are all movies that I fell in love with in the summer but tend not to watch so much in the winter. I also like based on a true story sort of movies like "The Pursuit of Happyness" or "Reign Over Me", I definitely reach for the more serious movies. Then in my summer music tastes, it's all about the beat. Upbeat tunes with fun lyrics are most of what I listen to, and I rely more on current "Top 40" hits for new music (rather than looking back in my CD Collection). A lot of Bob Marley (and Ziggy Marley) and Sublime gets played in the summer time too, it sort of goes with the "living at a beach" theme 🙂
I never even realised that before, learn something new everyday!
