Wasn't planning on announcing this quite yet, but as there's been some Firefly discussion recently it's here!

There will be a Firefly rewatch, probably 2 episodes a week

A book club of Book 2: The Magnificent Nine

And maybe a few other little things.

Well it'll be late spring really, as I'll be starting everything off in May!

As I have not seen the entire series and can currently get it, I would be up for watching it. What about the film?

And now to see if I can find a copy of that book that is comparatively cheap...

The film will be an optional extra after we watch the show, as I know not everyone enjoys the film.

I saw the film before any of the series, which likely made a difference as I was not as attached to the characters as I would otherwise have been.

that makes sense. the movie is actually a pretty good movie... for people who aren't attached.
It's been months since I have bought Disney+ which have Firefly in it. So I will watch Firefly for the first time with you all hehe. I've only seen the movie years ago.
 
I saw the movie (at cinema) before the series. I was intrigued by it, but it wasn't a favorite of mine. It was much better when I could get the deleted scenes that made a lot of nonsensical scenes suddenly make sense (and made the movie more satisfying). Scenes that never should've been cut. I can't play dvds now so I won't get it (but I do have a place I can see it) as I won't get it without the deleted scenes.

At least it got me to finally watch the series which was far superior to the movie.

If I'm still around this summer then I plan to take part in the rewatch here.

I’ve never watched it right from a rewatch so maybe I could try that? To be fair, I’ve always thrown it on, and haven’t tried to actually watch it.

Well, it’ll be interesting to see if we can make a convert out of you. I mean, we’ve got a returning main cast and Chiwetel Ejiofor, c’mon! 😊
 
I need to wait for payday to order the book, but I should have the episode schedule up next week.
 
I realized one of my Firefly dvd discs is broken! I mean you can find it on streaming, but the sentimental value of those discs! I don’t even want to think of how long I’ve had them

will we have a Summer of Firefly Rewatch discussion thread? I think it would be cool to have a fresh thread we can post thoughts in.
I've ordered the book! We'll start it in June, so that anyone who wants to read book 1 has time to.
