So were in the middle of summer (except for the Aussies and Kiwis and I'm going to just ignore you) and I can't help wonder what's it all about.

And then I remember, summer's about projects, having projects, creating projects, fulfilling projects and anything and everything concerning projects really. They're a time to do those things you plan on doing all winter but never get around to doing.

My personal summer project goes under the name of "Summer of the Dude". I'm doing my best to live my life after the guidelines of The Dude (those of you who've watched The Big Lebowski know what I'm talking about, the rest I'm going to ignore). It's a very nice summer project, I spend a lot of time doing nothing very much at all and in between I read.

Anyone else got a summer project they want to share with the rest of us? Any ideas for a summer project? A past project?

Does working count as a project? Its what I've done for the last four summers.

Before that I can't really remember.

When I was in high school, some friends and I used to make "movies" over our summer breaks. On video or Super 8 film. I helped out with the art direction and the titles and (tragically) the acting. There was a chase movie, a bad fake sitcom, a mockumentary...

My project this summer is seeing how pale I can get by the end.

See, I'm naturally pale but I really didn't go out of my way to stay that way throughout the summer. I can tan if I want to but I just don't bother, since tanning is completely gross to me. So this summer I'm going out of my way to stay pale - I bought a nice, HUGE bottle of SPF 45 and I wear it everytime I go out.

Seriously. That's my project. I'm not joking.

Now that's a fun and good project. Perhaps you should wear a cape...or one of those burqa that would come in handy. Part of me wish I'd do something like that as well, being ginger I have a tendency to just get burnt and I don't wanna think about skin cancer.

But I was working in the beginning of the summer and having to spend every day outside not even the highest SPF keeps the sun from somewhat tanning my skin. I've got freckled knees! I'm thinking of starting a club for kids with freckled knees. Anyone wanna join?

Those people exist..? Hmm....

I don't do projects anymore, they stress me out, heh. I'm seriously doing nothing this summer. Studying and spending time online and watching TV shows. No projects, if you don't count finishing this course and watching all of House =)

I'm trying to watch as much Tv shows and movies as I can sort of, because I have a feeling I wont have that much time to do that after summer (or well I always find time somehow to watch the important stuff.. ).

Also though, I started a band, last week. Me and a friend have been talking about it for ages, and we have nw finally started. One finished song so far, and she's coming here in a few hours to show me some other songs. It's a lot of fun, a dream come true really.

Each summer I finish writing/editing one of my book ideas. This summer, I plan to do two. I've already finished the second book in the series I self-publish and am trying to complete the first in another so I can send it to agents...almost there!

I sit in my room and do nothing but obsess over "dumb" things, like Buffy and comics. Does this count as a project?

Am I the only one with no social life here?

All I really do is sit on the computer and watch TV/movies. I am boring. Get over it.
