im 1/2 irish and 1/2 german...........which means that i cant decide if i want to take over the world or go drink a beer.

I'm half irish... but also half dominican lol its an interesting mix. im very proud of my irish side (well, both sides of course!).
 
I bought an Irish T-Shirt yesterday :lmao: to support my half irishness for St. Patrick's Day. :lmao:

As for I've got some ancestors from those islands - but I'm not sure were they Irish or not. %)

Well I'm not Irish at all, in my hereditary (is that a word...I'm not sure, but too lazy to look it up) I only have more or less Eastern European genes...east German (for I was born in the GDR), Polish, and most of all with 50% Russian. So no Irish dor me 🙁
I do think Ireland is amazing though. We talked about it in my English class back in 9th gradde and I liked what I heard...well, except for all these religious debates
And for some readon people in England (I was there last year) kept asking me if I was Irish. Hehe, maybe I'm irish at heart or I was Irish in a previous life
 
I'm not in any way irish, although sure, I'll come out and party with ye lads! I'll be celebratin St.Paddys day!
 
St.Patrick's Day is Ireland's National Holiday. It's the feast day of St.Patrick who brought Christianity to Ireland (he was actually Welsh himslef but thats not the point!). Basically it's a HUGE party for anyone who wants to be Irish for the day and a great excuse to get off work!!!

LOL! thats crazy! especially in places like NY and Boston where there would be a significant Irish presence...what do they think ye will do!

Hey -- you told me when I was writing "One Night Out" that the Irish don't say "ye" all the time, and there you are, being all willy nilly with the 'ye.'

Anywho, I love being Irish. Ireland's always fascinated me, and the famine was interesting to learn about. (Gracias, Kean. Eejit and kiniption! LOMA!) And now I will forever have to correct those that speak of leprechauns as if they were real!

I heard from someone (Kean again) that leprechauns represent a backwards image of Ireland. Is that true?

I can't celebrate St. Patrick's Day. There's corned beef and that makes me throw up... 🙁

Also don't know how I missed this thread, lol! But yep im Irish and living in Dublin.

Although I have had a few people ask me if I was American, which I think really shows I watch way to much American TV!

And yes everyone in Ireland will complain about the image of the leprechaun but come paddy's day there freakin everywhere, stereotypes be damned!

Also we drink allot, thats not a stereotype, more our countries motto.
