SunnyDale High Opening Hours

I've been thinking recently (Yes! It's strange for me too) But in seasons 1-3 the Sunydale High School was always open and to be honest it never seemed to close at all. Isn't it strange to people that students and staff would be allowed to stay in the school from dusk till dawn.

Maybe it's different in the US but over on the other side of the Atlantic. Schools normally open from like 8:30 to maybe 5-5:30. If our school was open all the time like Sunnydale's it would be trashed with vandalism etc.
Well it's just a thought. Any one wanna tell me how the crazy school system works in the US or is Sunnydale High just an exception! 🙂

Yeah, Giles probably had a key. Would make sense that all the workers had a key each...I think they have that in most schools all over the world...

Yeah I'd imagine Giles would have to stay later as he wouldn't be able to do work with kids (in theory) coming in to borrow books.

I noticed Joyce said they closed at 2:30, wow thats early.

Actually, that's not very early to me. My high school got out at 2:50. How I would always wish it would get out twenty minutes earlier ... But yeah, I think Giles once mentioned that he had a key.

wow 2.30 and 2.50 you get out at. i get out at 3.45 and start at 9.00.
Over here only the head and vice head have keys

We finish at 4:10, so 2:30 is big on the early side for me.

WOW some of you are lucky i have to get up at 5:30 and at the bus stop by 6:30 cuz school starts at 7:00 but we get out at 3:00 so our school sucks but they close down around 6:00 or so after the janitors get done cleaning and the teachers finish with stuff...

Wasn't there a back entrance to the library that was hardly shown? I think Giles had a key from the back entrance and he just used that to get into the school. The back entrance was shown in the Season 2 episode "The Dark Ages".
