Hi all- happy holidays!

I am working on combining some of the existing maps of Sunnydale together to form a closer-to-canonical vision of Sunnydale for a board game project. I know there are a massive amount of inconsistencies, especially related to characters getting around without cars etc. But there are some obvious examples where I think we can make better maps.

Does anyone have a map from any of the video games? I have the board game from 2000 and the map is not great.

I love and appreciate all the work people online have put into their maps but I wish I had better annotations as to how they justified each decision. I don't want to make a whole new map and then realize I forgot something obvious, or something that screen grabs from the show would be inconsistent with.

• Magic Box "right next to the dress shop [April Fools] on Main" Episode 3.20
• Sun Cinema, Espresso Pump, City Hall all in a row (visible on the show and in satellite pics of the back lot)
• Sunnydale High close enough to Buffy's house that Xander and a fleet of obsessed love-spell women can run there without difficulty - Episode 2.16
• UC Sunnydale "5 miles away" from the main action of the previous seasons - Episode 4.01
• The Bronze is "in the bad side of town... it's about half a block from the good side of town. We don't have a whole lot of town here." Episode 1.01

Where is the mall located? Where is the military base?

Any other memories of important location trivia, or episodes I should refer to?

cheers!

From "Grave", they are on the coast of the Pacific where Dark Willow conjured up the rise of the old temple to Satan.

Since the local natives were the Chumash, they are in the mid coastal half of California.

I always thought Sunnydale was something like San Luis Obispo which has a population of about 49,000, a little more than Sunnydale's 38,500. See this map and click on it to enlarge:

Yes, I think it's pretty clear they are near Santa Barbara because the opening episode quotes Cordelia and Buffy talking about being "2 hours from Neiman Marcus," which is a store in L.A.
