What is happening to Sunnydale/Buffy when the beast takes over LA? Has BtVS already ended at this point?? I don't remember anything about the sun going away in Sunnydale.

In Angel we are shown other vampires coming to LA to experience the endless night so I assume it would have just been LA, as the vampires come driving in shortly after it happens.

Yeah, it was only in LA. In one of the episodes, they showed a newscast that said no other areas were affected.
But what I didn't get is why the prison that Faith was in had daylight. It was daylight when Wes broke her out too. Is that prison facility not located in LA? You'd think a city like LA would have a prison. I mean Sunnydale had its own airport for crying out loud.

Where I live one of our prisons is quite far out of the city itself. Perhaps it happened to be on the border of where the sun was blotted out? And we don't know if she was moved to another jail or not.

True, I just wish they would have mentioned that. Maybe Wes making a comment to Faith about the long drive or something. The way it was just never addressed and we were supposed to jump to the assumption that the prison was not in LA kind of just made it seem like it was possibly a goof that the scene was filmed in daylight
