What is the sunset like where you live? Does the sun set over land or sea where you live? Do you have a view of nature or buildings? It is an event you can watch outdoors, or does the weather not permit this where you are?

No photos unless you've taken them, I'd love to hear the experience of the sunset in your country 🙂

That is a trick question I take it, the sun is gawd knows how many millions of miles away, or the other one is it sets behind a hill. There is a house the other side of the hill, does that count?

I used to see brilliant sunsets in the city, just because I lived in a high building though. I do enjoy the sunsets in the summer, where it'll still be light right up to midnight. Like the Scandinavian countries we get a lot of light and can see the aurora from time to time.

I could not imagine the blazing sun up at midnight! I remember some of your brilliant photos. How do you sleep with the sun up that late? Is the sunlight dull or bright? I'd love to see the aurora properly one day, so fascinating. Its so fleeting here. Another excuse to go up the mountain at midnight 😀

We live surrounded by tall trees (Redwoods mostly) so the Sunset gets broken up by the trees. At the moment though we are in the depths of Winter so the only way you know the sun has set is when you can't see the storm clouds any more...........

I get nice sunsets where I live. Right out in front of my house I can watch the sun go down over the foothills. I can see the houses directly across the street, but other than them it's just the mountains. If I go a couple blocks west, there is a break in the foothills and I get a good view of downtown Los Angeles and on a clear day I can see the ocean. It's my favorite when we get a break from the fog and I can see the ocean behind all the tall LA buildings.

People often say we get prettier sunsets in LA because of the smog, but I don't know if there is any truth to it or if it's just an old wives tale.

I love the sunsets (and sunrises) where I live! They vary so much depending on the time of the year, and it’s equally magical but in different ways.

It took this picture one afternoon last January and it is one of my favorites

And then of course, there is one with dog, because I'm always forcing her to stare out into nothing when there's a pretty back drop 😛

Wow stunning!
The sun sets over houses here. Nothing really picturesque about it but that's what you get when you live in the 'burbs.

In Colorado the entire Western side of the state is mountainous, so we get sunsets over the mountains every day. Sometimes the view is spectacular and grand. I don't have any pictures of my own right now, but take my word for it, they are very nice.

The sun sets over the ocean in Perth. My dad took us to the beach most summer weekends to watch the sunset with snacks. We'd go swimming in the waves, careful not to look at the sun ball. We could tell it was nearly time to get out when the crabs started tickling our toes. Thats the Shark dinner bell. We'd wade back to the beach and sit cold until night fell. Occasionally there was a bright flash across the sky as the sun disappeared. We could tell if there was volcanic activity in Asia from the colours. Usually the sky was so clear that the sunset was blue, orange, then gone, leaving a purple sky with enough time to walk home before dark.

It was the perfect place to view comets, the last one I saw on the beach was not that long ago. I dont remember its name.

I find the beach eerie just after sunset. It gets cold, and still. The waves calm and there is a chill. Its unnerving for me, but I dont mind being at the beach in the middle of the night. Weird.

Here, the sun sets over my back fence 😛 the colours are spectacular with a few more clouds, setting behind gumtrees. Its my favourite time to be in the garden. People are away in their houses and the birds have a laugh, darting around my head and stealing fruit.
