Do you think DB will make a good Superman/Clark Kent?

In response to the News that DB has tested for the role of Superman, I'd like to know what you think about him playing the role?

I really can't see it at all. Besides you'd think he'd want to get away from the whole 'hero' stereotype.

But he's big and all muscley...Those are the guys who play the superheros...plus he's good at playing a dork-type because he definitely had some dorky moments on Angel (ie. Mandy, the Clappy Dance).

In the other thread where I posted that article, didn't he say that this was just a rumor?

The latest name doing the rounds is Jim Caviezel

In the DB Future projects thread?? There was an article that KarrinMurphy found that was printed today I believe because I did the research.

Actually I heard Brian Singer offered Tom Welling the role, but he rejected it. I guess he wants to do another role besides Superman (Wondering if Smallville will end this season? I sure know Charmed and 7th Heaven should. Certain shows should only last 3 or 4 seasons, in my opinion).

I don't think DB fits the role of Superman at all. I think hes a bit too old. They'll probably go for someone in their 20s so if it becomes a franchise, they won't age that noticeably.

As for Sarah and Charisma as Wonderwoman, Charisma obvious resembles her the most and Sarah needs to stick away from superheroes for a while, as to not get type casted.

Boreanaz would do a good job as Superman. I'm sure he'd have a lot of fun with the Clark/Supes duality inherent to the role. I just kinda wish that Batman/Superman film had gone forward. If anyone here is a comic fan, you know that Superman/Batman is the biggest hit of the past year, and the artist who draws it, Ed McGuinness draws Superman and Batman in a very interesting way. They're both a bit short, very muscular and squared off. Really, Boreanaz would be a perfect Batman and Brendan Fraser would be an awesome Superman. Too bad. But yeah, I hope David gets to be Superman.

I don't really like DB for Superman, but would rather see him as Batman, mostly because I think he would make an awesome Bruce Wayne...but, then there's the danger of being type-casted...

I don't think thats factual.

Hes just too old!

Plus they said that they would never make a Superman movie while Smallville was on the air and we don't know when Smallville is going off the air.

And even if it is only a few years away, then DB would be even older!

Doesn't he worry about getting type casted?

They would never make a Supes movie while Smallville is on air? thats a big FALSE, they are casting for Superman right now,and will start production once they find him. Brian Singer has already gone out and said that the superman movie will have nothing to do with smallville.

As for DB playing the part, he would have to lose some weight and get slimmer IMO but he doesnt fit the superman role I think, I always just seem as more of the batman type. Seeing him in Red and blue spandex just doesnt look right, maybe if someone could do a manip? and see how he looks.

Why are they doing a Superman movie again? Not only is Warners doing Superman (with Jim Cavesiel), but also a Batman movie with Christian Bale.

We already have four Superman and four Batman movies already made. Why not do a Wonder Woman movie? Or is she the wrong gender?

LOL-LL...I've been wondering that myself. It seems that they are working on a WW movie...they just seem to be having a little trouble casting her. I would post a link with the info, but like an amateur (😉) I can't seem to remember where I got the info from. *shrug* When I see it again though, I'll post a link for you.

I agree they need to come up with superhero movies featuring superheros we haven't seen in movies thus far.

It's a shame Catwoman bombed. I would be nice to see a female superhero movie do well. Hopefully Elektra will be a great movie.

Because they always remake movies and since comic charecters are popular right now, why not do a Superman movie while the last one made was all the way in the 80s.

A WW movie would be nice but I just think there isnt enough hype about it right now.
