I still don't see why Tom Welling doesn't wanna take the part. Because rumor is, he was originally offered the part.

I would say end Smallville this season, do the movie and be done with Superman forever.

I mean theres not a huge chance that he will be famous since theres thousands of actors and so few chances.

Not to mention the big pay check.

But there is the whole thing about getting typecasted after being on a successful show.

Hell look what Sarah has to deal with everyday "Hey Buffy can you sign my autograph." "Sure my name is Sarah" "Hey why did you sign it Sarah Michelle Gell-ar, I wanted it signed Buffy DAMMIT"

hehe ok but really.

If I was him I would take the role because there really is a HUGE chance that you might not get a role offered to you ever AGAIN.

Plus Bryan Singer wanted to cast an unknown, and has already said that the movie will not be in continuity with Smallville so it has nothing to deal with the show.

TOM MAY NEVER BE OFFERED ANOTHER ROLE.

Just like Sarah may never be.

There are thousands of actors competing for very few roles.

and yet most of the time, the big time players mostly get the roles. And well Tom was never offered the role, just that a lot of people thought he would play Supes since he is in Smallville. But Bryan Singer wants to cast an unknown actor in the part, and well Tom isnt very unknown.
