Supernatural; I'm in LOVE. (Spoilers In This Thread!)

I actually started watching Supernatural a few years ago, and I love it! My favorite character is Dean. He's so hot, and EXACTLY my type.

My one problem with the show is they don't put enough romance in it. They never even keep a love interest for more than a quarter of the season. I respect and like that the show is more centered on the brothers, but a few NEW characters to stay would be good. 😀

And I'd say that Season 2 is my favorite, mostly because I like Jo and the Dean/ Jo 'ship.

I like it for the opposite reason - because Romance isn't the main concern :)

Lol I think if they had Sam or Dean in a relationship with any one for more than one episode then the fangirls would go more embarrassingly crazy than they already do whenever there's a new female on the show.
I know one of the women got killed off just because a few mad fangirls didn't like her, which is ridiculous.

Yup, if you've seen any or all the episodes with Chuck in it then you know that the writers/producers are more than aware of the batshit insane fangirls and they definitely write with them in mind.

Kripke when talking about season 5 said
that it will be more of the same because they couldn't seem to find a love interest for the boys that didn't make the fangirls want to vomit.
 
Nearly at the end of season one. I'm a beginner but loving this series so far! There are a couple of episodes I didn't like...and there are some just plain scary ones, like The Benders.

Some fangirls are a little too fanatic. The girls haven't been that bad have they? Not like I care much for their lovelife.

Well, realistically, what kind of long term relationship could 2 guys in Dean and Sam's line of work establish? Even if they ran into a pair of really hot demon fighters who didn't get killed off in the firsy episode, given all of the gear that they have to hall around, there just wouldn't be enough room in that Impala for 2 girls, plus all of THEIR gear. AND THE CAR STAYS!

Having said that, there could be a cuddly pair of demon fighters with recurring roles, like Amanda on Highlander...

Yeah, but she was living in one place, not traveling and running from the law like Sam and Dean always are.
Yeah, but Buffy wasn't travelling from State to State. The boys rarely stay in one place for more than a week.

And Dean tried the steady relationship thing with Cassie, even going as far as to tell her the truth about what he did for a 'living' and she ran for the hills. Which is WHY Dean doesn't go for the serious relationship...he's too scared of putting his heart out there and getting it stomped on again.

I thought of that too. But I don't see love life or having a love interest as the same as long term relationship. Well maybe that's the same even if I don't see it that way. Lets call it serious instead as Lyri says. A girl that shows up once and again and some flirting or regular hook ups had been ok for me.

And I know the car is important to Dean and some of the viewers. As for me I wouldn't care. But they could always have a trailer behind the car. 😉 Or two cars for that matter. I don't see that point as a dealbreaker.

That's how I see it. Having one or two girls being around the boys 24/7 is nothing I want to see.
 
So, yeah, I love this show...have I mentioned that? I've been exploring the fan pages on the net for the show...wow. I had no idea this show had such a big and active fandom...although I'm not surprised.

I'm surprised to hear about the writers killing off a character because the fans didn't like her. Joss would never have done that 🙂

Also, who here likes Jo? I like her, when she's around that is. She's got balls, but definitely gives off a Ducky unrequited love vibe (as Dean would say, lol). Dean totally doesn't like her, does he? Or is he just clueless? She seems like his type; blond, petite.

I'm on the last disc of Season 2 right now...I go back to school on Monday. UGH! Then I won't have any time to watch it...I'll limit myself to an episode a day.

Honestly I have absolutely no idea. I literally just got into the show properly this past week, I have no involvement at all in the fandom. However, if I was to rely on Fandom!Secrets on LJ as a way of assessing the fandom I would say there is a substantial number who will NOT be appearing on the cover of Sanity Fair anytime soon.

I was killing myself laughing at the outtakes just before. What is with Jared always doing his "Blue Steel" face? lol.

I've only watched up to the end of season 3 and a bit of season 4. I started to watch season 4 online, I made it as far as Yellow Fever (LMAO at the Eye of the Tiger thing at the end!) but it was pissing me off watching it that way. It comes out on dvd here on Wednesday, I can't wait 😀.
