Supernatural... One Tree Hill... AND Smallville get another season!

Smallville: Season 9 is Happening!

Pretty big news for Smallville and Supernatural fans. I must admit, I was a little suprised smallville was getting renewed, not because it hasn't been a good season but they always said they would do 8. I was kinda looking forward to some closure at the end of this season. Its time for Clark to freaking fly already!

I'm watching Smallville on DVD and I just started 7. Very cool it's being renewed - more for me to watch!
Wait, he hasn't flown? Ever? Wow, there went any thought I had about picking up the series.

But, YAY, Supernatural!

he has, under different alter egos and wierd possesions but not as Clark no. At this point he knows its in his future but hasn't got there yet.... why i dont know.

I agree - if by this term you mean to 'get out of here'.

Smallville lost me around season 5 and it just hasn't done anything to win me back.

The episodes I have seen feel tired and worn out.
Its doing a Charmed in that it is out staying its welcome (though Charmed, for me, did that after episode one season one).

Me, I loved Charmed, and still it did that. The show was already getting exhausted, so the s7 finale would have been SUCH a good ending...but then they did another season....which was HORRIBLE...I think it kinda ruined Charmed for me altogether
I've only watched the 1st season of Supenatural but that's great news for me since I love the show.
 
Another season of One Tree Hill? Is that really necessary? At one time I really loved the show but that was about 4 seasons ago...it's all abit too ridiculous for me now. I catch and ep here and there where as before I would be waiting all week for it.

totally agree! its got sooo soppy and lovey dovey, first couple seasons were pretty good but its gone downghill

Awful! No, I mean your post. I LOVE OTH. Though I AM sad that Hil is leaving. However, I'm ecstatic that Chad's awfulness is leaving. His acting has gone DOWN the drain in recent years.
I always get the last few minutes of Smallville when I DVR Supernatural. Last few looked interesting, like they were bringing out Doomsday or something. I just never identified with Superman so I never followed the show.

I don't even know what One Tree hill is, and I'm sure that is sacrilege to some folks, but I got too much good TV to try and keep up with anyway....

Which brings me to Supernatural. I love this show, and am glad it was extended to another season, that doesn't always happen for shows I like early on in their series.
 
I've watched a few episodes of "Smallville," but it's never really hooked me. I've been watching "Supernatural" on the internet lately, though, and I really do like it. "One Tree Hill" has failed to interest me at all on the few times that I have seen it.
 
One Tree Hill is the funniest show EVER. Some of the best acting I've ever seen. I'm really happy about this.

I like Smallville too, sometimes. Almost as funny.
 
I used to watch One Tree Hill, but it seems like they just copy and paste storylines from Dawson's Creek. If I wanted to watch Dawson's Creek I'd watch it, not some cheap attempt to make the same thing.

Smallville has gone on for that long? Really? The only thing that show ever did for me was put me to sleep. I tried...I really did....but it just didn't work out and it made me miss Lois & Clark *cough*

Yay for Supernatural though 🙂
 
I love Supernatural, glad it got another season

and I was a huge OTH fan until s4 but now I almost never watch it, the acting is getting so bad and there is not even a story anymore. It's so sad, like even Jamie, the little 4 year old boy, is cheesy as hell, I mean I will probably still watch just cause, but I'm suprise that it got another season

Well, since you almost never watch it, you don't see the story. There IS one. It's called Leyton. With a tid bit of Naley and Brulian thrown in.

Also, the only BAD acting is Chad. Other than that, they're all pretty decent. Especially Hilarie, Joy, Sophia, James, and Paul.

OH! and Smallville has done great after getting rid of the other showrunners. This season (what I've seen) has been a MUCH better season. Definitely better than at least the last two and a half.

And I'm super stoked about the early pickup for Supernatural. It's always been a good series, and I am SO glad Eric is getting to write is final season. (Now, if only we can convince him to continue with a sixth and/or seventh season..)

Oh, and other shows to be picked up:
Garbage show Gossip Girl.


...and 90210. Which, though I may regret saying this later, I am utterly fascinated by, and can't seem to NOT watch new episodes..

Hillarie Burton and Chad Michael Murray are leaving the show? Ok, now there really is NO point in it having another season! Leyton and Naley are basically the whole point!
 
Is Lana Lang still in Smallville.? She's purdy, but whines a lot. Any chance she has been infected by meteor rock, and lost the ability to speak, whilst gaining the ability to be nude. Like, all the time.

Well, it's been WIDELY speculated that Chad would be leaving for quite some time. And now it's come out that Hilarie will be leaving as well. (see the video at www.onetreehillfans.com) And she specifically says if she was the creative head, Peyton would be around forever to cry her eyes out (cause thats all she ever does! haha. But i love her). So I'm guessing it was a Mark thing. Which I'm angry for, because he's known Chad would be making an exit after this season, and he continued to paint Peyton into a corner, so..

I haven't checked that sight out for a long time, no wonder I'm not up on all the gossip! Serioulsy though, if Leyton leave what is the point to the show? Naley aren't the young newlyweds anymore, it isn't enough to carry the show.
I wonder does the whole baby thing and Peyton collapsing play into this? She could die or something if she has the baby? You'd think Mark was purposefully trying to kill the show...

agreed. More than any other season of TV i know of, i find mysef thinking..whats the point?
ok im glad that supernatural is getting another season, definately a show that i dont mind watching.

But smallville?? All i can ask is why why why....

Well, Brooke's storylines have gotten real good recently, and Mark has added in quite a few recurring stars, so they could all potentially keep the story moving. But you gotta remember its "One Tree Hill", not "One Lucas Scott". So even without Hil and Chad, the show CAN still go on. Look at Beverly Hills 90210. It did fairly well without the Walsh family.

Cause season 8 has seen dramatic improvements in ratings AND creativity.
