Supernatural Season 6 Finale (Spoilers!!!!)

Did anyone else HATE the last two episodes? Pretty much everything I didn't want to happen, happened.

Nope. I loved the last two eps. Apart from the Lisa thing. That broke my heart. Like I said, I saw the Cas thing coming, so I was expecting that.

No no no no... tsk tsk.. Lyri.. shame. You disappoint me to the point of weeping. He didnt KNOW what they were going to do.. he WROTE them doing it. That is (supernatural) god. He made their reality. He was god.

Alright, fine, I was wrong, lol. My theory still stands with your correction. Chuck was/is God.

I was wrong

Hot damn! It's gunna be a good day.. that was almost as impressive as 'you were right' and while it is damned impressive it's not sig worthy. You must try harder my young padawan.

You are so fickle, you know that? You hated her. Thought she was wrong for Dean. Was glad when she was gone. And then, oh that Lisa thing broke my heart. Is it maybe that you finally saw them through the eyes of Dean?

Ask Kean, I HATED Lisa. I thought she was completely wrong for Dean, but that's mostly because I was always a Dean/Jo shipper. But Dean LOVED her, completely, and he gave her up to keep her safe. That made me so sad.

Welcome to the world of a Bangel shipper.

*sigh*

How do I always pick that guy?

Welcome to the world of a Bangel shipper.

Yeah, but I'm not actually a Dean/Lisa shipper. It really shouldn't have upset me as much as it did. I literally burst into tears when Ben said 'Who are you?'. It just ripped my heart out.

I know, that was my point. You HATE her and it broke your heart, spare a thought for those of us who were actually invested in Dean/Lisa and Ben. 🙁

I'd God!Cas is a gobshite. Can we have Chuck back now?

I think I'm having character/actor bleed again. I honestly can't say I would have felt the same way if I hadn't met Cindy Sampson the weekend before. Can I? Oh, I don't know. I just know that that scene killed me.

BUT, I want this to be the end for Lisa and Ben. If something happens to them and they come back, it will actually kill Dean, I know it will. He gave them up to keep them safe, and if he finds out that it didn't work, it'll destroy him.

Cas isn't God. He THINKS he's God, and I think that'll be what the next season will be about. The boys finding the real God. Bring back Chuck! I love Chuck!!

That's what I'm worried about because Crowley still knows all about Lisa and Ben, and I assume their relationship with Dean is still known to other nasties. So, in a way, Dean has actually put Lisa and Ben in even graver danger. If something happens, they won't even know to contact him. I feel like they are sitting ducks 🙁

Yes please!

No. No, absolutely not. I refuse to believe that theory. I'm not buying it. I don't want that. I'll be so angry if they do that.

*Sticks fingers in ears and runs away*

No, I think the Lisa and Ben thing is done. Really, not alot more can be taken from or developed. Unless one of them becomes a hunter. I think this was just the way to write the characters out with a happy ending.

I hope so.

I just figured they did it with Dean saying to Sam "never mention them again" because there are SO MANY crazy fans who hate her with a passion (check out a SN board). I viewed it as the writers caving in. I never thought Dean would be stupid enough to do that to them - just being someone HE cares about puts them in danger. When he had their memories wiped, i was like "now how are they going to call him for help when something happens?" I could take them or leave them. I don't hate them, but don't love them. Dean got to live the dream for a bit, but that's not what a lot of the fangirls want, so... gotta get him single again and back on the road.

I have to admit, though, when i was Bobby's face when he looked at the picture of the old guy's mother, i was thinking it was gonna turn out to be Lisa😕

I TOTALLY thought that was gonna turn out to be Lisa, too.

I think part of the reason I don't like Lisa is because of Dean in the first ep of S6. When he's in bed and the alarm goes on in the morning, he just looks SO SAD, just lying there, staring at the ceiling.

I think that was the whole point, though. If Chuck was God, then he was trying to stay under the radar, and what better way to do that than to appear as a drunken, hooker-using idiot? I still maintain he was God all along, because he knew everything Sam and Dean were going to do before they did it. A prophet would know some things, but not everything. I mean, Dean at one point called Chuck to ask him what was going to happen next.

I'm not saying that's fact, just what I think.

Again, if he's God, surely he would have the power to stop the amulet from glowing? He would know what it was, sense it, and therefore be able to stop it.

Well, to each their own. They purposely made it ambiguous and I hate that. I like hard, irrefutable facts. 😀

I preferred Jo over Lisa, and didn't really like Lisa all that much, but I had nothing against Ben. I think some of it was to do with the actress of Lisa. I just didn't see any chemistry between her and Jensen.

I have trouble with the Chuck-as-god thing, too, just because it seems too retconned for me. If there were signs along the way that we couldn't put together until the final episode and then the whole disappearing act made everyone go "ooooooooooooooh," that would be different. But I don't see those signs. So either they were badly placed and Chuck was badly written, or he wasn't god, or they retconned him into god. The only option that appeals to me there is the second one.

Maybe Chuck wasn't god just as Jimmy isn't Castiel. I mean, Jimmy had headaches before Castiel took over. Chuck had headaches before he wrote Sam and Dean. Maybe god just popped in and out and then popped in for good finally.

If you look back at things, you can see traces where it was outlined. Where it may have been. They asked Chuck what he was and he said (if I recall) 'crazy' well Jimmy thought that he was going crazy as well. Only one person said Chuck was a prophet and that was Castiel. Raphael who protected him (to my recollection) never called him a prophet.

I think there were signs, no one was really looking for them and just taking it at face value.

But in a well-written story, those signs become glaringly apparent once the big reveal happens. As it is, there wasn't even really a big reveal; it's still not clear (without stepping outside the show) that Chuck was god. I really really don't want to think that the writers dropped the ball on something this huge so that the signs were too well hidden for even that "aha!" moment to bring them out.

yes, and wait for it..
there wasn't even really a big reveal;
that's my point.. you are faulting them for something not even done yet. You don't know how or what or when it will or wont even be revealed. I dont think the disappearance was meant to be a reveal. I think you will see the reveal when Chuck lays the smackdown on Cas... and I think you will see flashbacks or what not to see the dots connect. Have some faith.

Or Chuck simply could not have been god anyway so all of it was moot!

If Chuck isn't God, then all the cast are in for a big smack down for telling all the fans that he is/was, lol.

There are things in SPN that have happened and the conclusion hasn't played out until years later. Sam's blood-drinking. Dean's stint in Hell. Sam and Dean's 'destiny'. The Angels' revelation. Ruby's true purpose. Mary's involvement in hunting.

Just because Chuck's true reason for being hasn't played out yet doesn't mean it won't.

I agree with what Sco said about Chuck, that he could just be a meat suit, like Jimmy is for Cas and Sam for Lucifer and Dean for Michael. If you look for the signs, they are there as far as Chuck is concerned, just, at the time of S5, we were all so busy worrying about Sam and Lucifer and Dean and Michael, no one was really looking for them.

I really do hope that Chuck comes back next season and the whole thing gets straightened out. Even is Chuck isn't God, God isn't dead. Cas said that he couldn't find God, that just means he doesn't want to be found. Or didn't at the time. Cas proclaiming himself as God now does not mean that the 'real' God doesn't exist anymore. I fully expect there to be some sort of show down between the two. Or at least, I hope there will be.

Oh, and as far as Dean's amulet glowing in the presence of God...if Chuck is God's meat suit, maybe that 'dilutes' God's power and this is why the amulet didn't glow?

IF the end of S5 was meant to be a big "Chuck is god" reveal, IMHO, it failed. IF we're going to see more of Chuck/god and the whole thing's going to be straightened out later, I'm fine with that. But the certainty with which people are saying "Chuck is god" just doesn't sit right with me.

ETA: I can, however, easily see "Chuck=Kripke." That one makes perfect sense. And as much as I admire Kripke, I don't think he's god. 😉

ITA! This! All of this!

I can accept Chuck being God's vessel like Jimmy is for Cas, but I don't believe he himself was God or even that God was possessing him for the whole time we saw him. If God did possess him, it was only in that final episode imo. I mean, surely Chuck wasn't God in "The End", telling Dean to hoard toilet paper. 😀

*sigh* I just hate retconning. The same thing happened with the Trickster turning out to be an archangel. Though I don't mind that one. I'm just sad he died. 🙁

So true! LOL indeed.

Personally, I think they decided to confirm it just to make the fans happy and settle their debates. Rob Benedict didn't even know when he was filming for the season 5 finale that he was playing God.

Anyway, what do you guys think will happen next season? Apparently it's going to have a Butch and Sundance sort of theme, whatever that means.

Blondie Bear agrees: I can believe that, though. They had a good explanation for it.

You mean the Trickster into Gabriel retcon? Yeah, I can believe that, too. 🙂
