Well, watched the first episode of Supernatural earlier tonight and i have to admit that i was quite surprised about how much i enjoyed it. I'd heard some really mixed opinions on the series ranging from good to terrible so i really did not know what to expect. As it turned out the show seems to have a lot going for it. Good cast, interesting basic concept and intruiging mythology. Add the fact that the production is well above average and you have a show that i'm going to enjoy watching, unless of course it does a Threshold on me and the pilot episode is as good as it gets! 🙂

I know that After-Darkness is probably a more specific board for discussing this series but between my work screens and here i already have way too many windows open to be posting at another board so i thought i'd ask here to see if anyone else had seen the show and what you thought about it.

i only caught a few minuutes of the ep (i was watching something else) but i was actually really surprised by what i saw. i really liked the overall feel of the show, and i hope it continues to maintain the level that i've seen so far.
i'll def try to watch more from now on, and if i can't, i'll buy the DVD's, 'cause it looks like something i could really get into.

Lyri, i'm not sure from your profile exactly where you are from but i'm guessing from your last post you are in the UK. If that is the case then the episode is repeated on ITV1 tomorrow night at about 11.30 if you want to see it all. 🙂

I've seen most of the episodes and it is a very good show. It has good mythology, good characters, and I enjoy it. The pilot was one of the better episodes of the series so far but the ones coming up are good also. I think you would like Supernatural.

THANK YOU! you have made my night! yes, i'm in the UK, and i'd really like to see this.
thank you again.

Actually i just double checked at Radio Times and it's on at 11pm, not 11.30. Good job i checked or i'd have had you missing half of it again! 😀

I saw it and I was really impressed! The bit when Sam drove through the ghost scared me to death!

I have posted in more detail about this on AD, but my overall view is that it was great!

We taped it at Pointy Towers and haven't watched yet but from what I've read so far, it seems like the best of the new shows...except that I've missed the start of Veronica Mars twice now...and that's the one I really want to see 🙁

I missed the first episode of Veronica Mars too. I'd not had chance to watch it the first time it was on Living TV because they (stupidly) chose to schedule it every week night in an early evening slot.

It was only by pure chance that i noticed that they were showing it again on Sunday evenings but i only found out in time to catch episode two! Guess i'll just have to buy the DVD set if i want to see the pilot anytime soon.

Who is in Supernatural?

Watcher, the pilot episode is essential viewing for Veronica Mars.

Psycho, Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles (Dark Angel and Smallville) and Jared Padalecki (Gilmore Girls ... apparently?). This is the link to the official web site if you want any more info.

And yeah, after watching the second episode of Veronica Mars i figured that the pilot episode was pretty essential to getting the show. Can't believe that i missed it! Pity that Living TV aren't a little better at advertising their schedule or i might have known it was going to be on! 🙄

The second ep screened in Oz tonight. Not as good as the pilot (are they ever?) but I really like they way they seem to be going to investigate all kinds of mythological and supernatural manifestations. I like a show that says these things are real, they're evil, and THEY NEED KILLING! It's really well written and well acted.

The eps that relate more closely to the arc seem to be the most compelling, in general. But there are some really good stand-alones too.

I haven't seen it yet, err I am dieing to!! But they are having an early release of the DVD,Season 1 part 1 it's out on 27/03/2006 (Play.com)
And just to note on After-Darkness there is now a UK-Supernatural section so there will be no spoilers!

I missed it last night, but i am definatly tuning in tonight, i have heard so many good things about it, i am excited, also i am a small Jared fan, so it should be good 🙂
Thanks for the info The Watcher.

I've seen most of the episodes and i love the show, i cant wait till they start bringing it out on DVD cause i'm gonna start collecting them. I loved last weeks episode with the Reaper.

So there are no Whedon related actors in Supernatural? As for missing episodes. I only watch tv for football, or sports in general. All tv shows I want to watch I download...Lost, Veronica Mars, Bones, Doctor Who.. Hell, I've even been watching Smallville(Purely because "our boy" is in it). Or sometimes I watch Winamp(its free). They have several tv shows that they play on a loop. An Angel channel, Lost, Smallville, The Soprano's, and many others. Oddly, no Buffy though...

I think that Amy Acker comes into it in the third episode! I've seen pics of her in the Supernatural Avatars on After Darkness, also I read it in a post on there!
