Superstitions

I own no pumps 🙂
I think alot of people follow superstitions just from the way we are raised, and it just kind of just gets programmed into us. I really hate the whole "penny" superstition though.

Before anyone says it: "Yes this is so Canadian"
Always and I mean ALWAYS drink my morning coffee from my Toronto Maple Leaf mug on game day and I ONLY wear my team jersey during a playoff game of said team.
Oh and I never do anything to get Mrs TT angry. Last time I did that I never saw her for 3 days...that's how long it took the swelling around my eyes to go down so I could see again.

LOL! Are Mrs. TT and Mrs. D separated at birth or something like that? Sheesh...;)
I always make sure I'm wearing maroon for a state of origin match, even if it's just my underwear (maroon is the Queensland colour).

I'll avoid wearing blue (New South Wales colour) if I can but my work uniform is blue so I wasn't able to last year but we won anyway!

Seeing a black cat on thursday the 12th usually means good luck for me, so I hunt them... on thursday the 12th.

I also rub my lucky buddha's belly before an exam and tell my dog to keep her paws crossed for me.

and I'm extremely carefull about breaking chopsticks apart, they have to split in the middle.Thats not Japanese, its just me ^.^' I however do NOT stick my chopstick upright in my food, especially in rice.

I finally thought of another one I do...

After watching a scary movie (which I don't do often these days because I live alone and I'm a very big chicken) I wear my buddhist pendant to bed. It was given it when I was very little and I'm supposed to wear it (or at least take it with me) when I go travelling or I need protection.

So I wear it to bed after I've watched scary movies...if I don't, I don't sleep well...if at all (damn overactive imagination).

I throw salt over my shoulder whenever i spill it, and now actually, if i took too much, the excess gets thrown over my shoulder, I also cant have anything on the number 13th, I hate that number, and it hates me I swear lol.

I'm actually quite a rational person but....

when i'm watching football (the Australian variety) if my team (Essendon) starts losing or playing badly i make everyone go back to the seats in which they were sitting while we were winning. My family is quite used to it now - though they think i'm a bit crazy. it's amzing how often it works (we'll not last season - we had a shite year).

Never put a new box of shoes on the table. Always attach a penny to a sharp object if you are giving it as a gift. Place a penny above your front door to give you good luck during the year.
