Supersymmetry...Was Gunn right or wrong?

Taking it upon himself to kill Prof. Seidel, stopping Fred from exacting her revenge.


Personally I had no issue with what Fred wanted to do, he deserved to be sucked into that portal. Never to return.

Not only did Gunn rob her of her one chance for revenge, he

came off like a hyppocrite. After talking about how wrong it would be for her to kill Seidel.


He violently snaps his neck.
 
I think Gunn was right. Gunn probably thought it was more humane to just break his neck rather than sending him alive to some hell dimension. And isn't him doing it trying to help Fred a good thing?
Anyway, i thought the episode was just average.

While his intentions were good, Gunn robbed Fred of the right to settle the score herself.
 
He died. She got her revenge. I don't think Gunn robbed her of that so much as spared her from the psychological effects that would come along with having killed her professor. I think the guy got what he deserved. I'm not sure it was Gunn's place to do it, but I think he was sparing Fred, so even if she didn't understand, I can.
 
He most certainly deserved to suffer, but Fred would have had to have lived knowing she did the same thing to him that he did to her. Gunn did what he could to punish the dude, without putting Fred through more pain. Chances are very good that his suffering would not have helped her feel any better about what happened to her. It would have just been another thing for her to have to live with.
 
Regardless of whether Siedel deserved to suffer or not, I think that both Fred and Charles were wrong. As Paul Newman once said in "THE STING", revenge is for suckers and I think that Fred should have put Siedel behind her and move on. On the other hand, Charles had no business taking matters into his own hands. I don't believe he had the right to do so.

So, they're both wrong, as far as I'm concerned.
 
I think Gunn was wrong in what he did.
I'm not saying Fred had the 'right' to kill him, I mean he was (technically) human after all, but it sure as hell wasn't Gunn's place to swope in there and do it for her. I mean, i understand he was trying to do what was best by Fred but did he really think that she wouldn't still feel guilt when Gunn killed Sidel?
Personally, wasn't a big fan of the episode. They could have done a very nice Fred based episode without bringing the Pylea stuff into it. As it was my favorite arch in the entire show I would have kinda liked it to have been left as it was. But, yay! for Fred episode none the less.
 
Good question, and one without an easy answer. I was pretty shocked when Gunn broke Professor Seidel, especially since he he told Fred (or so it seemed) that it would be wrong for her to kill the professor. Wrong for her, I suppose, but not for him. On the one hand, if Fred had killed the professor, she would have had to live with the guilt, but she would have made that choice. In that sense, it was wrong for Gunn to deny her that choice. On the other hand, again, his intentions were good. But Gunn was ultimately wrong to kill him because killing is wrong. However, I think that Fred should have sent him to Pylea, as that would have been the most fitting prison (rather than a conventional prison). Plus, it would have made more sense as an act of revenge.
