Survival Horror Video Games

I love the suspense of survival horror, always gets me swearing like a sailor!

Speaking of walkthroughs, have you heard of L0rdVega? He's a let's player. Hilarious guy, did great walkthroughs of the first three Silent Hill's. Check him out too!
 
I love Resident Evil 4! Does anyone else like it?

I don't know many other Survival Horror games though.
I'm not an excessive gamer and if I play I play mostly shooters like Half-Life.

I do like Res. Evil 4! I definitely prefer Outbreak though, really enjoyable, you should play it.

I love Resident Evil franchise, the only thing I don't like is the targeting system they put in the game. First you turned 360 to aim and now you stand still and move a tiny dot over an infected. Yes I know Capcom wanted to add the "Precision Aiming" element to RE4/5 but it kind of gets annoying after awhile.
 
I don't know if they count as "survival" games....but my favorite trilogy is Hunter: The Reckoning. If you haven't heard of it, they're hack and slash games about four humans who are at the execution of a serial killer at a jail. Somehow his death triggers some sort of event and hundreds of thousands of monsters are let lose on Earth. The gods give the four witnesses powers so they can fight the demons. Each playable character has a hand weapon (two have swords, the other has knives, the last has an ax) and everyone has a gun (one has a crossbow). More importantly each player starts with a magical power (one has healing, one can throw lightning, one can turn his sword to flame, and one has super speed). As characters get stronger they get more powers. Pretty much you're just bum-rushed by zombies, werewolves, vampires, etc and have to survive. LOVE THESE GAMES. They're old though, for XBOX and PS2.

Dead Space and Dead Space 2 are my two favorite video games ever. I've beaten the first one 4 times and the second one 7 times so far. I even beat the second one on Hardcore mode, which has got to be my proudest and most difficult gaming moment 😀.

I've heard of these games but I never got a chance to play them, the plot looks really decent. I'll have to give it a go. I like the whole idea of each character starting off with a power, sounds like a lot of money went into this game.

I'm glad you said it's old, 'cause I only own old consoles. I'm strictly old-gen 🙂

It was actually a YouTube walkthrough thing that got me into Amnesia and made me wanna play Dead Space. It was TobyGames. Not an expert player by any means (but probably better than me. But that's not saying much.) but I just think he's hilarious :')

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned or not, but I played Condemned 2: Bloodshot somewhat recently (meaning like 2 years ago haha) and it was pretty good. Here's a clip of one of the amusing parts.
