Survivor 47 ep 4 reactions

Teeny, your apologies mean nothing! I dont dislike her, shes a player to watch, but she is a bit of a snake.

Oh bats in the credits... I hope they dont bring home new mutant viruses. At least no one eats the bats and rats out there anymore. Or chickens, apparently.

Yay! Straight to it. Love it. And for reward! Excellent 😀 Im happy for this. Im liking this season more than any of new era seasons so far, in terms of game setup.

I feel sorry for Sol being on the team with Rome. It would have been a good chance for him to scramble for himself. Instead he is still stuck with him. Of course its Rome up the ladder.
Smart Gabe, going for the tallest the earliest. I wouldn't think on my feet like that. Good fight back by blue. Rome is gona go to the end isnt he. One of the ones you keep around cos you're certain to beat them.

Caroline blurting all her alliances haha. I would be exactly the same.

Oh Sol I want to give you a hug. Haha hardcore Gabe.

Hahahahah Andy. Hes putting his hips into it. JLP would have had a field day commentating that.

Off to tribal. Looking forward to your thoughts 🙂

I couldn't believe they traded three chickens for eighteen eggs! The chickens surely have more protein, if less easily divided among five. The only thing I can think is that one is a vegetarian and couldn't stomach killing animals. I can't remember if this was the team Kyle was on, who revealed himself as a vegetarian. (And thus, blew a hole in my belief that he was a redneck good ol' boy.)
Of course its Rome up the ladder.
Ha, I said that very thing out loud while watching! He's always got to be the center of the challenge, skills or no. I can't believe they still didn't vote him off.

It seems to be becoming a trend for the person voted off to stand there for a bit and accuse fellow tribe mates of betraying them. Jeff needs to start enforcing the "leave the area immediately" rule!

I wish they would tamp down the enthusiasm when the reward is announced. I'm sure they are eager for the treats, but the over-reaction just seems so faked. Food I can see, but they start jumping around as soon as Jeff announced they're going to the Sanctuary.

Anika going was the sort of eviction that I love to watch haha. Not for every single one of them, but when its a bawling blindside, its funny. Haha Andy - yes that.

Merge! Yay. This is good, before any team is completely decimated. Teeny got there by the skin of her teeth.

No merge feast? Ripped off! But it is cute to watch them mingle. Rome is a stirrer and it is hilarious.

I like the necklace. Still not sure who gets what feast! School yard pick does feel like old school survivor.

Sol is a sexy beast.

Oh no Rome on the table maze... . "Other idiot" yes subtle Jeff.

Sue looking strong, but my money is on Kyle.

Off to tribal... Oh nope, Im wrong... Off to feast?

This has definitely been the best season of the new era for me. Cant really put a finger on what they did differently, but enough to make it significantly better in my eyes.

A villain on the show, and probably in many situations, has to be smart and, perhaps ironically, emotionally intelligent with regards to other people. Rome failed utterly at the latter requirement. It never occurred to him that the others would compare notes?

Also, a villain or just good player has to stand back and observe, not continually push themselves forward. Once again, Rome insists on being the point man in the challenge, and once again, he caused them to lose. I hope being on the show teaches him a little self-awareness.

Still, to adapt a quote, nothing so became his game as the leaving of it. His exit speech was very classy and positive, and a nice change from the two previous sullen exits.

I don't know why they do a "schoolyard pick" of teams if they aren't going to show us the choosing. And while it may be fun to make them crawl through mud, it makes it hard for viewers to figure out who's who.

I would love for those on the bottom of each tribe to unite after the merge and take control, but it's never happened, and doesn't look like it will this time, either. But an alliance of Rachel, Sol, Sue, and Teeny would be awesome.

Rome was good quality tv, even being one of the most annoying characters we've had. I started to think it was jut his strategy to be so obnoxious, that people WANT to take him to the end, knowing they would beat him. His talking skills are excellent, even when put on the spot.

I hope he does not take jeffs spot!!!

But an alliance of Rachel, Sol, Sue, and Teeny would be awesome
Agreed, I'd love to see it!

Well, I predicted who would go home early on this episode. But it was still a fun episode. I love seeing them passed out and full of food. So satisfying 😁

I liked the flashbacks with Andy and the girls alliance. Its cheesy as, but I just accept it now. Andy is a dork, its funny to see how far he has got.

Sol made the right choice. What a twist. I didnt know what would happen with that. I feel like it was the smartest choice to smash that "potential" alliance. I liked the twists tonight because they were easy to follow, but still inducing good game play.

Yay an auction next time! I love the auction!

Not sure what I think of this practice of dividing the merge group into teams. I like it because it creates temporary alliances and changes the dynamic. But I dislike it because, coupled with all the advantages nowadays, it makes the vote-out almost random.

I always laugh at the way they are required to over-act when the reward is announced. "I never imagined it would be food! I love food!!"🥳🤩😁

I agree. That dropped a delicious bomb into the Tribal. And you'd think nobody this season has ever heard of a blindside, the way so many of them fall to pieces when it happens.

Do you think Tribal should be shortened? It seems like everyone has caught the idea of speaking in generalities so as not to give anything away, but it then serves little purpose. And the less it does, the more Jeff wants to prolong it. It's gotten boring, I think. Just get to the vote!

Yeah, last nights tribal felt exhausting. They talk
in general terms for hours and then racheal ends up safe at the end anyway! So it was all for nothing. It did feel like a waste of time. At least the scramble wasnt too long, maybe they tired them out so it wouldn't be. I certainly felt tired by the end of it!

Big Gabe fan and happy that Caroline towed the line.

They seem to be getting fed more this year? Maybe it just seems that way, when they do it in shifts. Production caught on, excessively food deprived people dont always make for good tv. Personally, I am more excited than the contestants for food if when I had gone days without it haha.

I can't, for the life of me, get into this season. We will play it when there's nothing else to watch, but it's so difficult.

Awww I was hoping you would like this one. For some reason, I do.
I can’t tell you the names of any of the castaways. But that’s also because I haven’t been paying much attention. It just feels like the same game from the last 6 seasons.

Stake fodder
Stake fodder
I've been feeling somewhat the same. Not too many strong personalities this season.

Sol is the only name you need to know 😉 my fave by far, just to look at lol

I think that’s the issue. By stepping away from the themed seasons, it’s kind of gotten stale. Just switch the castaways, but same basic format. It’s just not as interesting as, for example, Australian Survivor.

Yeah I can see why having the same island makes it easier all round for production but new era does feel like Survivor camp. They have made some minor changes this year, feed them more, the first idols were almost impossible to get undetected, and less silly journeys. That three part idol was new, but no one wanted it haha. It feels like they are trying out previous advantages and challenges to see what might be popular and stick.

Gabe has similar game play to some aussies, Sol has the body, Rome brought the pre merge entertainment. There may be some foreshadowing for Andy with the flashback of Erik giving up immunity for the girls and then being voted out by them. He's the comedy without being last season level cringe. I haven't yet been able to pick the winner by the edit, which was all too easy last season.

I do think its cool they have claimed the island, when my mum went to Fiji they did a boat tour to it and sent me videos. It is extremely thick steep forest, so to have their challenge beach and camps cleared has got to be easier for the cast and crew. Plus more environmentally friendly for them not to destroy the natural landscape of yet another remote area. I do wish they used real toilets though.

Sols secret agents woo! Rachel and Sol could be a bit of a dream team.

Ooh thats adding some fun to the auction! Finding money in the jungle reminds me a bit of really early season challenges. Its like an easter egg hunt. Ha, I typed it before Sierra said it.

Its scary that Andy works in AI. How can you be so unobservant?!?! Hes gona be the reason for skynet isnt he.

Aww Kyle. Hes gona be sick later if his tummy isnt used to meat. Hes really going for it. I think that proves the humans are omnivores argument. Sol eating cake is the sexiest thing this season. Rachel is getting an awesome run here. This is a really fun auction.

Caroline is a little ball of sunshine. Sue reminds me a lot of our Jackie.

Kyle and Sue challenge beasts!
Off to tribal

Usually I would wait for a response, but that was an incredible tribal! Rachel is a genius and a new favourite for me. Smart cookie getting a read on them with her shot in the dark. For a moment there I thought maybe she was psychic, cos she guessed that burger right! Luckily she got to hold that idol.

I am wondering if they got a new casting team, or new advice. Because I find this season to be more like Survivor AU. The clue in the auction was a thrill, I loved the auction. A great way to take up time without it all being beach scenes. Jeff seemed to have fun with it too, which made it fun for me to watch. This was the best episode of the new era, I just enjoyed it a lot.

Gabe is playing super smart, knowing to step back and let the more obvious players line up to be shot down. Very calculated.

Genevieve needs to go. Im hoping Caroline and Sue stick with Gabe. If they make the final three, it will be a great watch. But I think they all know how much of a threat Gabe is. Now Sam will need to scramble. Sol and Rachel, as a team, will make this all very interesting. Andy is an outlier. Teeny is a snake. Teeny is the villain to me, especially when she keeps saying sorry... The sorry means nothing! Not a person I'd want to come across in real life, but good for reality tv.

Kyle will be gone as soon as he loses a challenge, they all know he could win his way to the end at this rate.

I like how Sol is coming out of his shell - or getting more screen time - since Rome left. He's very likeable. I'm rooting for Rachel, too, but she seems to have a black mark on her that's not going to go away.

I can't understand her reasoning in using her Shot in the Dark, which gave her only a 1/6 chance, instead of her idol.

I like the way they've reformed the auction. I think they stopped having it because everyone would just wait for the advantage that they expected was coming. Now, you have to bid, and most people got something to eat. I lol'ed at sad sack Andy, whining that he wasn't finding any money, and thinking anyone was going to help him.

I figured she used the shot in the dark to gauge the reaction. I can see how it would have appeared too straight forward a vote to her, and she was the aim last vote before being saved. So if they had reacted, she could have then used her idol.

Plus, she didnt get a vote, so hasnt aligned herself (publically) with anyone in particular. It also throws them off the scent that she has an idol in her pocket because I'd assume they'd assume she'd use an idol if she had it, over a shot in the dark. Cant tell for sure, but this was my read from the storytelling edit.

It was great to have a tie between the power couple, even with Sierra getting to keep her vote didnt save her.

Andy was ridiculous and hilarious and I love Sierra for choosing Gabe and Caroline to share the chocolate platter!

So if they had reacted, she could have then used her idol.
Good point. I didn't realize she could still use her idol after that. So that's really clever of Rachel. They're right, she's dangerous!
I love Sierra for choosing Gabe and Caroline to share the chocolate platter!
I couldn't believe they didn't finish the chocolate! And that Jeff then stuck his finger in that bowl that they'd been sticking their nasty, unwashed hands in.🤢
