as a viewer, it felt arced up so they could have their teaching moment.
I definitely agree with that! Jeff can't resist a moment that supposedly shows how "great" Survivor is. I also thought it was inappropriate that he started cheering Eva on when she was getting frustrated in the challenge, while ignoring Sai, who was also struggling.

In the current Survivor AU Logan is having a grump every time someone writes her name down saying "I didn't expect this from my friends".
I always roll my eyes at people who feel sooo betrayed. Everyone there is playing for themselves, not as an accessory to someone else's game!

Cedrick is smart, but hes not got the charisma in his confessionals. He made a good move with the information he had. And there is no doubt that it is his move.
I think Cedrick is a lot smarter player than he seems! I've got my eye on him. But it's going to be hard navigating Sai's sense of betrayal. She's really one like that Logan.

Survivor AU Sunday 30/3

Loving the AJ edit, but the other players are not going to see it his way if he gets to pitch to the jury. Its too covert.

9 days 😭 its gone too fast!!!
Oohh Myles can keep his mouth shut with zara haha oh no he cant....
If Kaelan loses immunity at this stage, it would be stupid not to vote him out.

Uhoh Pilates challenge again. They're all doing pretty good! Clever Kristen, logan may be loyal after this. Oh Zara has a good point though, she can use this too.

Myles! Jungle Ratking of Idols!

I forgot about the reward retreat, got so involved with the game bit again.

Team challenges for immunity is a bit rigged. They should have done this one for reward. But perhaps it can handicap kaelan, boo not so.
Kate spaghetti arms.

Im worried for AJ just due to his air time and solid plan tonight. Do your idol Myles, although they dont know the target. Hmm Kate.. AJ isnt lying.
Rocks is a bad idea. Zara will be safe, kaelan has immunity, myles could save himself with the idol? So if they go to rocks AJ is the only one in their alliance at risk. Rocks is too dangerous!
Here we go...

This is not the way I expected it going but YAYYYYYYYYYYYY! My nerves are relieved they didn't go to rocks. Logan will probably going to get an invite back on another season. I guess the one night away made her realise what she was missing. The reward likely weakened her.

I duno if Eva should have been allowed on the show if she truly requires that much support . If I am unable to ground myself and act like that - I am taken away by police and locked up for 72 hours. If she is unable to ground herself - she gets a hug? Nah Not a fan - if her DSM label was "antisocial personality disorder" or "Schizophrenia" the reaction to her would be very different. If she had been born in another country, or if her parents had been poor - she might not have an autism diagnosis at all.

I guess its one of those things that triggers the "better or luckier" argument from Buffy in my head. Eva is very proud of herself for achieving so much in life, but its not because she worked any harder, its because she was lucky enough to have those opportunities for growth and the support through it. Yeah it triggers me because I worked with so many non verbal and low iq children with autism who are not represented by the current crop of autistic influencers. Thats a *me* thing, unrelated to Survivor.
I was thinking.. while I watched.. how she doesn't present as autistic. While I know that there are various levels of autism, and its on a spectrum, she for the most part is able to manage herself and ground herself. The stimulation of that challenge, and her being the very last one on her team to need to sink the ball, and being afraid to go to tribal, all in one made her react the way she did. It wasn't until that moment that her autistic characteristics really came out, so I think viewers might have been confused about her talking about her autism diagnosis. Honestly, I don't pay too terribly much attention to tribes the first episode or two, until I can figure out who are going to be longterm players.. so I missed her talking to Joe about it earlier.

I do think that showing Joe understand her issue, and allowing him to go to her and help her calm down, knowing she needed extra help, was good. I didn't like that Jeff made it into a "thing". I know that part of the host's job is to narrate the show, but the problem with Jeff that I don't think JLP has, is that Jeff tries to produce the show in the moment. But he's not a writer, and he's only a producer because he stayed on as host for so long and he haggled his way into becoming a producer. So when he does this narration or he asks pointed producing questions, it comes off as inauthentic. It becomes a gimick of the show, instead of allowing the players to be the show.

I think that's what Australian Survivor gets right, and why it feels like "old school" US Survivor. Because JLP is not a producer. He's a host, and does his hosting duties well. But he's not asking questions thinking about a "narrative" or an "arc" for later. He's asking questions about the moment, and getting the cast to paint their story.
I definitely agree with that! Jeff can't resist a moment that supposedly shows how "great" Survivor is. I also thought it was inappropriate that he started cheering Eva on when she was getting frustrated in the challenge, while ignoring Sai, who was also struggling.
This is exactly what I mean! Jeff is too focused on producing that he's become a terrible host.

Star is a dumbass giving her idol away. Eva is playing better socially than Star was! I'd like to rewatch and ponder if Star perhaps feels guilty for leaving Eva out of the idol thing, or if this game play, an idol that everyone knows about is a target.
These people and giving away their advantages.. or telling everyone about their advantages. Trust, if I'm on etiher edition of this show, and I secretly find an idol or advantage, NO ONE is going to know. I'll tell them that from day one. "I love you and I trust you as a player, but if I find an advantage in secret, I'm not telling you about it. If I kind find a way to use it to benefit both of us, just know that it was because of our trust and friendship. But in this game, information is key, and for me, it's important to keep secret advantages or idols to myself. If you find an idol or advantage, I don't expect you to tell me. I trust you to use it to help both of us. But this keeps plausible deniability for both of us."

Only one person is winning this game. So it's important to keep certain information to yourself.

Thats a good point, I hadn't considered her age. Maybe that is why she doesn't have anything nice to say about the women. And I wonder if that has factored into her seeking out Joe - a fatherly type, to be her helper from the start.

Tribal, especially after merge will be interesting. Thats hard socially on anyone. In the current Survivor AU Logan is having a grump every time someone writes her name down saying "I didn't expect this from my friends". It could be tough to remember it is a game. (Logan has blamed neurospice for the reactions on X/twitter).
I always roll my eyes at people who feel sooo betrayed. Everyone there is playing for themselves, not as an accessory to someone else's game!
I think Cedrick is a lot smarter player than he seems! I've got my eye on him. But it's going to be hard navigating Sai's sense of betrayal. She's really one like that Logan.

I think younger people, especially younger women, have a hard time voting their friends out. Because they're in a developmental stage that's all about social cues and being liked. If you add in Eva's exceptionality, where she's not able to understand social cues as well as others.. it makes sense as to why she hates on people so much. It also probably makes her guarded.

I am also interested in seeing her at a tribal, and how she will react. It's not easy to have to vote off people you have come to love. I think viewers don't understand that piece about the show. These are people you spend 24 hours a day with. From my time as a camp counselor, I understand how intimate that is. Especially when you only have contact with each other. For most of those summers, I was cut off from my family because of my job duties, so I get it. Adding in the process of eliminating those that you have grown to care about is difficult.

Those that understand the game aspect might have a slightly easier time, and don't hold as much resentment, but it is still difficult to have to vote off the people you live with.

Sai is a terrible player, but she's so entertaining to watch. She's overthinking. And her sense of loyalty is laughable lol. She is such a mess. I agree, similar to Logan.

I can't wait to see how my favorite stranded Ozzies are doing this week! Will be catching up on Sunday and Monday when I get home from work tonight!

@Cohen, excellent points about Jeff producing in the moment, and Eva's developmental stage. I will be watching for these issues!

Trust, if I'm on etiher edition of this show, and I secretly find an idol or advantage, NO ONE is going to know.
They are making it harder to keep advantages a secret, though, with the complexity of idols, and the journeys to a puzzle. But I also think it's really hard to keep a big secret like that, when they're around each other 24/7. And even if they don't tell, their behavior may give it away. Plus, this business of going through people's bags should not be allowed.

its on a spectrum
This is the bit that triggers me. "I have austism and I can do this, dont let autism stop you etc etc etc" coming from Eva. Plenty with autism would be rejected because of autism. Others (as @Stakefodder mentioned) are chosen because of it - a pretty and highly educated girl is going to be chosen as autistic representation over a stimming, non verbal man. Yet they both have autsim... his autism is absolutely going to limit his life no matter how hard he tries. I dont like this sort of messaging, unrealistic goals can be harmful.

I remember reading an article where JLP said he didnt always know what was happening down on the beach. He'd get a run down and then find it was completely different at tribal anyway. So he cant be leading because hes often not sure himself. It does make it a better story because they can edit and frankenbyte after, rather than choosing a story on site and sticking to it even if its shit (Bhanu comes to mind).

David cracks me up. He's not wrong...

"I dont want to do puzzles with a bunch of dorks"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm one of those dorks who will still watch Survivor forever, but he has a point.

Sai is fantastic entertainment. She reminds me a bit of Michaela? in Millennials vs Gen X. Shes thinking far ahead and getting annoyed they arnt sticking to her plan, great tv, especially when they are blindsided 🤣 I do love that shes fighting for it, shes not just rolled over and accepted her fate, shes out of the loop but playing her own game hard.
Logan is less likeable, she has that "mean girl" streak, but also excellent entertainment, with fans just as passionate!

I can see the Michaela resemblance! I loved her too!

Drop your buffs doesnt sound quite as exciting when its read on their own beaches, but I guess they have to know to pack their stuff. Merge after 12 days is not impressive. I fell for the April fools post that said Survivor was switching back to 39 days format, wishful thinking fooled me.

I would also like to bond over milk.

This season does seem to have a better mix of athletic vs dorky than most of the new era. Mary actually looks strong. Chrissy is less strong than I expected. Cedrick is exactly as expected haha. Im surprised Jeff is allowed to say Losers, surely someone is offended by that. Cool immunity necklace 🙂

They should go back to the 39 days and add more players… lol. And do some double eliminations.

I haven’t been able to locate Tuesday’s AU episode. Did it air on Tuesday, or did they hold it?

Down to two eps a week now :( So Sun/Mon only. What did you think of Sunday!?!

Was this the rocks episode? Savage. I like how out of pocket Myles plays. It is so fun as a viewer. I've never seen anyone willing to go to rocks.
It was nice of Logan to be a Martyr, but if I was her, I would have said "yall can go to rocks". Like this is a game for a money prize... don't throw it in when you're almost guaranteed safety.

Especially as four of them had never been to a tribal! That's another reason this season seems badly managed, though they can't help Vula always losing. Still, switching back to 39 days might help with that, no foolin'!

I want to see the strongman + a woman alliance go down. I find all the talk of "honor and integrity" insufferable. Deception and backstabbing are how the game is played! And not everyone can power through on muscles. And Joe is a nice guy, but kind of a sap. Maybe I'm too cynical.🤨

Maybe the others deserve it. Why are they all targeting women for "an easy vote" instead of the strong people? Though I didn't mind seeing Charity go.

Have you noticed there are never any real villains anymore? Perhaps it's just different editing. But I miss a Russell Hantz sometimes.

I hate challenges involving mud. You can't tell who's who.

YES! Big agree! I like the athleticism but the honourable crap has to go! Joes game isnt his own anyway, I'd like to see him play without being linked to Eva.

I think this is why we see Johnny Fairplay in so many photos with Survivor AU players haha, we have not lost our villains.

I was honestly surprised that Logan didnt tell them to go to rocks and guarantee her own safety.
From what I gleened on twitter after, it seems Morgan and Kate were not willing to go to rocks and were going to switch their vote to Logan, but we didnt see that on screen. I imagine we will see Logan invited back to play again anyway as Shonnee has a newborn.

The edit did make it look like Logan missed the luxury of her life and the reward away reminded her what she was missing out on, but with only 9 days left, if she really wanted it, she would have fought harder. She isnt one who needs the money as shes wealthy thanks to who shes married to - but she does want the fame.

Hmm if its a 2/2 split on Kate and Morgan, why dont Kate and Morgan use their own 2 to make a 3 way tie. I wouldnt put it past AJ or Myles to switch a vote in that situation (provided they were not the target)
But How well is AJ playing that no one is aiming for him, Myles is the shield.

Paulie all pretty hehe.
And a twist! Sometimes I have whinged about this last minute immunity chance, but it does add drama and I am interested to see who wins and how it changes the vote right now. A good time to throw this twist in. Ooh a balance challenge - kate has the best chance at this. And an actual challenge! After a long day too. Myles is just having a blast. The most expression we have seen from Morgan since week 1. JLP is jinxing them!

Ugh doing the misdirect with the M's! Dont feel too confident Myles... maybe use the idol man. Held is nerve better than I could!

Good episode tonight, Nothing mindblowing, but the sort I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen. Which is ALWAYS a sign of good tv for me. Costuming helped 😅

Dude these episodes were wild.

I loved the tribal twist in ep21. I just wish the girls could have convinced Kaelyn to keep Morgan.

Also what was up with Morgan not being on jury??? I kept thinking like “why is there only 5 people?”

I was bummed at the vote out for 22. I really feel like they lost a chance to get AJ out. Of the ones left in the game, I want Kaelyn to win.

Absolutely blew the chance to get out AJ, what comes next is anyones guess! Its a great final 4 and all 4 deserve to be there for very different reasons. Zara had a good read going into the vote, I wasnt sure if that was a misdirect too - that was a very, very clever play from her. She has wanted Kate out for a long time, there is no doubt it was her move to add to her resume and she blew up Myles game too. I dont want her to win, but I respect the play.

I have no idea what has gone on with Morgan, she was heavily featured in the promos and then hardly featured in the show! No exit interview, no jury villa? Really bizarre. There are some wild theories going on but I dont believe any of them at this stage. So Im not going to spread the weird rumours.

I have really enjoyed AJ's game and would love for him to win. He's been a mastermind in a whirlwind of a game. It may be hard for him to prove at final jury though, if he is up against Myles whos game has been right out in the open the whole time. Zara has her girls on the jury, Kaelan won with brute strength. I cant think of a more deserving final 4 ever. Usually there is at least one who got dragged along to be beaten in the end, but all 4 have played great individual games.

How was Kates exit hahahaha I was laughing.

Survivor US, April 9:

I'm sorry to see Sai go, even though she did sow chaos and wasn't a great player. I still liked her. I don't feel too bad about Cedric, though, except they should have targeted one of the strong guys. Oh, how I want David and Shahin out!

How arrogant is David? Twisting his spool back and forth, practically kissing his biceps!🙄 And how unfair is it that Joe lasted almost an hour and didn't get to eat, while Cedric lasted 20 seconds and did?

At least Mitch wasted his Block a Vote! I hate stuff like that after the merge, so I'm glad it's gone.

Yes also sad to see Sai and Cedric go, they were both entertaining. Sai just had a blast and was so gracious leaving
Joe seems to carry a lot for his alliance, and I dont think it is going to pay off for him. I'd really like to see him play again though. Maybe another heros vs villians season, he would absolutely be a hero! It will be sad if he just suffers and suffers for no reward 🙁

I wonder if that was part of Davids strategy, to psych them out. But it also puts a target on him once he loses individual immunity!

I was worried he was going to drop his bucket so Eva could win. Glad he didn't! I agree that being too much the nice guy is likely to make him a target, because no one will want him to get to the end.

No doubt, and no one will feel bad about voting him out when he acts like that!

Let the fallout begin! Underrated move by Zara.

AJ fuming at Myles, super honest kind friend LOL hes mad as. I'd sorta love it if Myles won immunity now haha.
Fun challenge! What a game this kid is playing!

OOh just got a Survivor Australia vs the World promo!
The wiki is quick -

Good all star aussie side! Only two that I dont know on the world side, haven't seen Qubec or Finland yet! I'd like to see Lisa play her game with the best, she smoked those kiwis.
Sadly only 16 days, but I get it, some of these names would not do a full season again. And being all previous players, they are ready to play hard and fast!

Finale time!! Chaotic game! Myles and AJ carrying this season. Go AJ!

Kaelan has no one to braid his hair today haha
"A sharp peg will do that to you"
I'm loving AJs commentary, so funny hes just chatting away, happy as. Is he straight? Does he need a wife?
I'm surprised Myles struggled most! AJ is going to give it to kaelan in a deal I bet, he wants to sit next to kaelan. Wow he actually fought for this one.
Aww kaelan, you could have given it to Aj if its so hard you silly boy.

The women on the jury almost look completely different. Its amazing what makeup can do. Still no Morgan. I know she is heavily pregnant now, so I wonder if she was pregnant out there? Maybe why she didnt try in the challenges? Grasping there, I have no idea why shes not there.

AJ spelling out Myles win so convincingly, Kaelan better listen. HAHAHA both arguing for the other that they will beat Kaelan rather than appealing to kaelans honor. Oh here we go AJ clued in.

Aw that's a sweet smile from Zara.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, AJ played the best game BY FAR. I hope to see him again. I did not see that coming. I wanted to hear his final pitch! Now Myles better win! Cos his game was also awesome, but he wouldnt have pulled it off without AJ, and luck.

Im not saying Kaelan played a bad game by any means - he deserves to be there. Any of the final 4 were worthy winners. But I personally prefer Myles balls out game. Great pitch by Myles too! "Poor little bottom boy" LMAO

Great fight to the end, and good jury questions. They dont feel tired like usual, they are really playing right til the end and its great to watch. Yes, Robust is a good way to put it JLP!

Lets see who brought it home...

Survivor US: I've always thought David was dopey, but I really disliked him this episode. He's so easily manipulated and pig-headed once he's made up his mind, and then he just bulldozes people. Let other people talk! Though I admit, he stumbled upon the truth of Kyle and Kamillah's secret alliance, but not because he's strategic.

Also, his victim mentality irks me. Yes, the strongmen are never allowed to make alliances and are always used by others.🙄

I really thought Chrissy had torpedoed her chances, but the unanimous vote showed that people had already agreed to vote her out, I think.

Now I hope they will start targeting stronger players, though I think I would be content with anyone winning except David.

More chances for fan votes for the 50th season, on the design of the immunity necklace, number of twists, and giving them the basic survival stuff at the beginning.
